The
story of Galacticos is a very special one. They
made their debut with us all the way back in
2009 at our Barcelona Fives tournament and reached
the Cup Semi-Finals. Since then, they reached
2x Cup Quarter-Finals, another Cup Semi-Final
and no less than 3x runners-up finishes. Their
journey had seen them travel to Barcelona,Valencia,
Alicante, the Algarve and Lisbon yet were craving
that first title they had worked so hard to
achieve and come so close to accomplishing.
At the 2025 Porto Tournament they achieved that
much deserved success and we could not be happier
for them. They did it in style with 8 wins from
8 games and a 5-0 win in the Cup Final.
JCFC
Seniors pushed them all the way but Galacticos
had just too much in the showpiece final. In
the Plate competition there was success for
Eltham International. They thought they had
won it 1-0 in normal time only for a last gasp
Fylde Old Boys equaliser to take the match into
penalties. Fylde FC Old Boys were looking to
make it back-to-back Plate successes after winning
in Prague last year. After an epic penalty shoot-out,
Eltham International emerged triumphant. After
15 successful penalties, Tony Martinez made
the save that won it for his team.
Personal
honours also went to Eltham International as
their star striker Stefano Chagas won the golden
boot with 8 goals in the tournament. A successful
day for him and his team.
Well
done to everyone for an amazing day of competition
and thank you to all teams who participated
and played the tournament in such a great spirit
and atmosphere. We hope to see you all again
soon.
