Mitre
FC A and Flying High would not have to wait
long to learn their fates as FC Prelada and
Berkshirelona FC would take to the field in
the next game. So, let's have a look at what
was at stake.
For
FC Prelada, a draw or victory would see them
qualify for the Cup in second position. A defeat
would see them fall below Mitre FC A on goal
difference and qualify for the Plate.
For
Berkshirelona FC, a draw would see them move
above Flying High on goal difference. A win
could see them climb as high as 4th position
in the table. Flying High would be eliminated.
A defeat would see Berkshirelona FC eliminated.
At
half-time it was FC Prelada and Flying High
who would have been happiest as it was FC Prelada
who lead 1-0 at the break. Joao Alves scored
his first goal of the day at a crucial time.
Berkshirelona FC desperately needed to arrest
the momentum of their day but an own goal added
to their woes. Not only did this make their
task harder but an own goal is so debilitating
and a morale crusher. With FC Prelada in the
ascendency they sealed the win with Carlos Oliveira's
third goal of the competition.
The
win secured 2nd place for FC Prelada and a place
in the Cup with Mitre FC A consigned to the
Plate. Flying High would also progress to the
Plate whilst we had to say farewell to Berkshirelona
FC.
