As Round 7 began, Fylde FC Old Boys had played all their fixtures and were watching on to see if they'd done enough. The other 6 teams in Group A had one game left to advance their quest for Cup or Plate qualification. It was now or never for these teams.

First up was Mitre FC A versus Flying High. The Mitre FC A camp knew that nothing but a win would be good enough to give them a chance of reaching the Cup – they would also need FC Prelada to lose their final game. Anything less for Mitre FC A and they would be in the Plate and most likely a third/fourth place finish. From a Flying High perspective, a win would guarantee Plate qualification and eliminate Berkshirelona FC. Anything less and Flying High would be out should Berkshirelona FC manage a win from their final game.

At half-time the game was still in the balance. Flying High had opened the scoring with Andrew Ford grabbing his third goal of the tournament. This was not in the script for Mitre FC A but they were back level thanks to a Joseph Atunrase strike. The game was locked 1-1 at half-time. The second half became even more important for both teams as they sought a vital winning goal. Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that man was Joseph Atunrase. It was his fourth strike of the day and his most important. It handed his team a 2-1 victory and their Cup hopes were alive…just. All they needed now was a FC Prelada defeat. Flying High would also be watching the remaining games nervously hoping Berskirelona FC would fail to win their final fixture.

Mitre FC A and Flying High would not have to wait long to learn their fates as FC Prelada and Berkshirelona FC would take to the field in the next game. So, let's have a look at what was at stake.

For FC Prelada, a draw or victory would see them qualify for the Cup in second position. A defeat would see them fall below Mitre FC A on goal difference and qualify for the Plate.

For Berkshirelona FC, a draw would see them move above Flying High on goal difference. A win could see them climb as high as 4th position in the table. Flying High would be eliminated. A defeat would see Berkshirelona FC eliminated.

At half-time it was FC Prelada and Flying High who would have been happiest as it was FC Prelada who lead 1-0 at the break. Joao Alves scored his first goal of the day at a crucial time. Berkshirelona FC desperately needed to arrest the momentum of their day but an own goal added to their woes. Not only did this make their task harder but an own goal is so debilitating and a morale crusher. With FC Prelada in the ascendency they sealed the win with Carlos Oliveira's third goal of the competition.

The win secured 2nd place for FC Prelada and a place in the Cup with Mitre FC A consigned to the Plate. Flying High would also progress to the Plate whilst we had to say farewell to Berkshirelona FC.

The Cup and Plate places had now all been decided with Galacticos and Deportivo Dooradoyle entering Campo A for the final game of Group A. The game was not meaningless though. For Galacticos, they would want to keep the winning momentum going and finish off their Group A campaign in style with a 100% record.

For Deportivo Dooradoyle it was a case of exactly where they would finish in the table. The higher the league position, the theoretically easier place in the Plate Quarter-Final draw. They currently occupied fifth position but could rise to fourth place with a draw or better.

The result went with the form book as Galacticos continued along their merry way. Riyad Uddin and Yaaseen Patel both scored in the first half as the teams changed ends with Galacticos two goals to the good. Zaahir Patel increased that lead to 3-0 after the break with Hamza Hafesji increasing that lead to 4-0.

4-0 was the final score and completed the 21 games of Group A. Congratulations to Galacticos on a stunning performance winning the group with a perfect record. Commendations also to FC Prelada who would join them in the Cup. Mitre FC A, Fylde FC Old Boys, Deportivo Dooradoyle and Flying High would successfully reach the Plate.
