JCFC Seniors opened up with a fine 2-1 win in Round 1 and were looking to embark on a winning streak. Their next opponents were Eltham International.

Eltham International made their debut at the 2024 Mallorca Tournament. They lost their first game 2-0 to Team Rock but as the day wore on that proved to be not too bad a result as Team Rock went on to claim the title. Eltham International then picked up their first win (2-0) over Dumpling CF. They then lost 3-1 to former champions, Maruru. They ended on a high though and amongst the goals as they defeated Portugal's RAF 4-1 and Sutton on Tour, 4-0. They finished second in the group and qualified for the Cup competition. They met Irish team Deportivo Dooradoyle in the QF and exited the tournament following a 2-0 loss.

In Round 1, Eltham International had picked up a solid point in a 0-0 draw with FC Maroon but they hungered after all 3 points in this fixture. However, they would have to settle for a share of the spoils in a closely contested 1-1 draw that saw all the key action take place before the interval. Both sides struck in the first half, with Stefano Chagas finding the net for Eltham International and Tom Killeen continuing his fine scoring form for JCFC Seniors — making it two in two for him in the tournament.

The result leaves JCFC Seniors unbeaten with a solid four points from their opening two matches, providing a strong foundation as they look to build momentum in the group. For Eltham International, it was a second successive draw — a sign of resilience and defensive strength, but they'll be eager to turn stalemates into victories to stay in contention for Cup qualification.

FC Maroon and Mitre FC B played out a tight and competitive 1-1 draw in their second group game, a result that maintained both sides' unbeaten starts to the tournament. The first half ended goalless, continuing FC Maroon's run of defensive discipline — three consecutive halves without conceding.

The deadlock was finally broken in the second period, with both teams finding the net. Ben Hughes continued his excellent form for Mitre FC B, scoring his third goal of the competition, while Ben Summers struck for FC Maroon to secure a deserved point. The result moved Mitre FC B level with JCFC Seniors at the top of the table, while FC Maroon's solid start gives them a strong platform to build on in the games to come. FC Maroon were now unbeaten in 6 games in eurofootballfives.com competition.

Sheffield Thursday began their eurofootballfives.com careers at last year's 2024 Mallorca Tournament. They began with a 1-1 draw against Wentworth Royals and a 4-1 win against The Yol. They then met Ecuador 100% who had won 3x titles in a row. Sheffield Thursday only lost narrowly, 1-0. They lost again (2-1) to W London before another defeat (2-0) to Deportivo Dooradoyle. They'd been knocked off their stride and met Dumpling CF in the Plate Quarter-Finals but exited the competition 4-0. It was a strange end to the day after 3 very good opening performances.

Earlier today, Sheffield Thursday suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to top of the table JCFC Seniors. It meant they were on a run of 5 successive defeats but all of them close games against good opposition with the exception of the 4-0 against Dumpling CF when they were perhaps demoralized. Their opening performance today would give them some encouragement to turn their fortunes around. It would not be easy against a Schindler's Assist side who had looked competitive in their first game although they did slip to a slender 2-1 defeat themselves.

It was honours even in the first half here with Luke Kear (Sheffield Thursday) and Jackson Crowder (Schindler's Assist) goals cancelling each other out. Group B was proving really close with 5 of the 6 games thus far being level at half-time. After the break it was Joe Morris that nudged Sheffield Thursday ahead as he scored for the second game running. He was to go on and make it 3 goals in 2 games as there was now daylight between the two sides at 3-1. Sheffield Thursday wrapped up the points and moved into third place in the table.
