After a thrilling day of competition, two standout teams emerged to contest the showpiece event. With the Group A and Group B winners contesting the Cup Final no-one could argue we didn't have the best two teams in the tournament battling for the winner's trophy.

JCFC Seniors, unbeaten and resolute throughout the group and knockout stages, brought with them a blend of experience, defensive steel, and clinical finishing. Their opponents were Galacticos, a team that had lit up the tournament with flair, precision, and a perfect record. With both sides showcasing formidable form and a hunger for silverware, the Porto Cup Final promised a high stakes clash and top-tier football to crown a worthy champion.

Knowing the history of the two teams in our tournaments, the big question for us was could Galacticos get over the winning line. This was both a positive (as they had extra determination to win) but also a negative (as it could play on the nerves, particularly if the game got tight and tense). The first goal in these games is always important but you felt moreso for Galacticos today. If they were to concede would that raise some scars from the past? It would be an enthralling watch.

The 2025 Porto Cup Final brought together two outstanding teams, but it was Galacticos who turned on the style when it mattered most. In a stunning first-half display, Zaahir Patel struck twice—taking his tournament tally to seven—and Riyad Uddin added a third to leave JCFC Seniors with a mountain to climb at the break. Despite JCFC's best efforts to regroup and chase the game in the second half, the clinical Galacticos side took full advantage. Hamza Hafesji netted his fourth of the tournament before Yaaseen Patel rounded off a dominant 5-0 win.

While the final scoreline suggested a one-sided affair, the quality and commitment of JCFC Seniors throughout the tournament shouldn't be overlooked. But in finals, fine margins often widen as a team chases the game. JCFC had no choice but to push forward, and Galacticos punished them with ruthless efficiency. On the day, Galacticos were simply irresistible—worthy champions who saved their most commanding performance for the grandest stage.

Our commiserations go to JCFC Seniors who had played well today but just ran out of steam at the final hurdle. On another day at another tournament, it could well have been winners medals they were collecting.

Congratulations though to Galacticos on their remarkable triumph at the 2025 Porto Tournament! Their journey to the title was 16 years in the making for a side that made their debut at our 2009 Barcelona Fives. From Barcelona to Valencia to the Algarve, Lisbon and Alicante this victory had been brewing for some time. They must have thought at times that luck was against them as they collected runners-up medals on 3 occasions. Their persistence and commitment to the cause whilst constantly maintaining belief in their ability is nothing short of remarkable. Here in Porto, they demonstrated their quality at every stage against some strong opposition. Their 5-0 victory in the final was a fitting reward for an outstanding campaign both on the day and in their eurofootballfives.com careers. We can't help thinking that now they've secured their first title the floodgates could open and this may well be the first of many. Galacticos can take immense pride in lifting the Cup and should enjoy their celebrations to the fullest. They were popular winners and it was fantastic to see all the guys again.

Our 2025 Porto Tournament champions….. Galacticos!
