FC
Prelada continued their strong group stage campaign
with a composed 2-0 win over Mitre FC A, thanks
to a brace from Gil Gomes. The Portuguese side
showed quality in key moments to secure their
second win in three games and rise to second
place in the standings.
Mitre
FC A, playing just their second fixture after
a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Deportivo Dooradoyle,
were looking to build some early momentum. However,
they found themselves trailing at the break
as Gil Gomes struck the opener, calmly finishing
to give Prelada the edge in an otherwise balanced
first half.
As
Mitre FC A pushed forward in search of an equaliser,
spaces began to open up, and Prelada capitalised.
Gil Gomes added a second to double the advantage
and seal the result. His goals ensured FC Prelada
remained firmly in the hunt at the top of Group
A. For Mitre FC A, it's been a tough start against
well-organised opposition, but with four games
still to come, there's plenty of opportunity
to regroup and push for a knockout place.
