Fylde
FC Old Boys have built a strong European pedigree
with eurofootballfives.com, making consistent
appearances since their 2017 debut at the Krakow
Trophy. That year saw both their A and B teams
perform well – the A team finished Plate runners-up
after a penalty shootout in the final, while
the B team impressively won their group and
reached the Cup Semi-Finals. Their 2018 campaign
in Amsterdam saw the A team reach the Cup before
losing to eventual champions.
Fylde
have since consolidated their efforts into a
single squad, performing strongly across various
tournaments. Highlights include a defensively
solid run at the 2019 Alicante Tournament, reaching
the Cup Quarter-Final, and a competitive showing
at the 2023 Lisbon event, reaching the Plate
Semi-Finals. In 2024, they lifted silverware
at the Prague Tournament, winning the Plate
with back-to-back 4-2 victories, marking one
of their most successful campaigns to date.
Today,
Fylde FC Old Boys needed a strong finish to
the group to ensure Plate qualification as they
currently sat in 7th place albeit just a point
off 3 rd position. Their next opponents were
unbeaten Deportivo Dooradoyle. Although unbeaten,
Dooradoyle were yet to win with 3 draws in 3
games which was stunting their progress up the
table. Fylde FC Old Boys hit the front in this
game when Nathaniel Smithies struck his fifth
goal of the tournament. 1-0 at half-time meant
this game was still in the balance. However,
Fylde FC Old Boys soon had some breathing space
when Ramzy Elftesi made it 2-0. 2-0 became 3-0
as Michael Fee wrapped up all 3 points for his
side as Fylde FC Old Boys soared up the table.
