Flying High faced a formidable challenge in the form of table-toppers Galacticos in their latest Group A clash. Galacticos came into the match with a perfect record – three wins from three – and held a two-point lead at the summit. Flying High, fresh off their first win of the day, were riding a wave of momentum and hoping to close the gap on the Cup qualification places from their position in fourth.

The match began with intensity, and it was Galacticos who struck first, continuing their habit of edging tight contests. Hamza Hafesji opened the scoring in the first half with a well-taken finish, giving the leaders a narrow 1-0 advantage at the break.

However, the second half saw Galacticos find another gear. Huzaifa Hafesji doubled their advantage before Zaahir Patel added a third to seal a comprehensive 3-0 win – their most emphatic victory of the tournament so far. With the result, Galacticos extended their lead at the top of the table to five points and sent out a strong statement of intent to the rest of the group. For Flying High, it was a setback, but with games still to play, their hopes of a top-two finish remained alive.

Fylde FC Old Boys have built a strong European pedigree with eurofootballfives.com, making consistent appearances since their 2017 debut at the Krakow Trophy. That year saw both their A and B teams perform well – the A team finished Plate runners-up after a penalty shootout in the final, while the B team impressively won their group and reached the Cup Semi-Finals. Their 2018 campaign in Amsterdam saw the A team reach the Cup before losing to eventual champions.

Fylde have since consolidated their efforts into a single squad, performing strongly across various tournaments. Highlights include a defensively solid run at the 2019 Alicante Tournament, reaching the Cup Quarter-Final, and a competitive showing at the 2023 Lisbon event, reaching the Plate Semi-Finals. In 2024, they lifted silverware at the Prague Tournament, winning the Plate with back-to-back 4-2 victories, marking one of their most successful campaigns to date.

Today, Fylde FC Old Boys needed a strong finish to the group to ensure Plate qualification as they currently sat in 7th place albeit just a point off 3 rd position. Their next opponents were unbeaten Deportivo Dooradoyle. Although unbeaten, Dooradoyle were yet to win with 3 draws in 3 games which was stunting their progress up the table. Fylde FC Old Boys hit the front in this game when Nathaniel Smithies struck his fifth goal of the tournament. 1-0 at half-time meant this game was still in the balance. However, Fylde FC Old Boys soon had some breathing space when Ramzy Elftesi made it 2-0. 2-0 became 3-0 as Michael Fee wrapped up all 3 points for his side as Fylde FC Old Boys soared up the table.

Berkshirelona FC and Mitre FC A met in a key Group A clash with both sides eyeing a push up the table. Berkshirelona had started brightly with an opening win but were looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats, while Mitre FC A came into the game fresh from a resounding 4-0 victory over Fylde FC Old Boys and knew a win would take them into second place.

The first half was evenly contested, with Nick Nunn netting his second of the day for Berkshirelona FC and Rishi-Ryan Patel's strike for Mitre FC A cancelling each other out. The teams went into the break level at 1-1. In the second half, Mitre FC A stepped up a gear. Adam Smith gave them a 2-1 lead before Sam Pagano added a third, and Smith later bagged his second to seal a commanding 4-1 win. The result reignited Mitre FC A's Cup qualification hopes and pulled them right back into the race near the top of the table. They were currently in second place on goal difference above FC Prelada. With 2 games to go, their fate was in their own hands.
