The
last team to get underway in Group A was Mitre
FC A who came so close to the ultimate prize in
Prague last season. They opened up with a 4-4
draw against Foot 130 A – the reigning Amsterdam
Fives champions. A 5-0 win over FC Fylde Old Boys
followed before a 4-1 win over Korea's FCRK. The
wins kept coming with a 5-2 victory over Spider
Mans & Eagle before a surprise defeat in their
final group game against Moles Salah B (4-1).
They'd done enough to qualify for the Cup competition
in second place. In the Cup Semi-Finals they met
Foot 130 B and defeated the French side, 3-2.
In the Cup Final they met the A team of Foot 130.
It was a close 4-4 draw at the start of the group
phase but this time the French were 5-2 winners.
Mitre
FC A would begin their Porto campaign against
Ireland's Deportivo Dooradoyle. The Irish team
had already warmed up with a 1-1 draw against
Flying High and were looking forward to getting
a first win on the board – it would be tough against
Mitre FC A though.
Mitre
FC A and Deportivo Dooradoyle shared the points
in a tightly contested 0-0 draw in what proved
to be a showcase of defensive discipline and tactical
awareness from both sides. Mitre FC A looked composed
at the back, showing strong organisation and work
rate to nullify Dooradoyle's attacking threats.
Deportivo Dooradoyle, for their part, were equally
resolute. Their defence remained compact and disciplined,
cutting off passing lanes and showing great positional
awareness. They frustrated Mitre's attackers time
and again, limiting clear chances in a contest
where margins were fine. Honours even.

In
Game 5 of Group A we had Fylde FC Old Boys versus
Galacticos. These two teams both appeared at
the 2019 Alicante Tournament but ultimately
did not meet face-to-face. Both teams qualified
for the Cup from the group phase with Galacticos
going all the way to the Cup Final where they
finished as runners-up in the tournament.
The
two teams had experienced contrasting fortunes
in their opening matches here in Porto. Fylde
FC Old Boys had lost 3-1 to Berkshirelona FC
whilst Galacticos secured a 1-0 win over FC
Prelada.
Galacticos
continued their perfect start to the tournament
with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Fylde FC Old
Boys, making it two wins from two in the group
stage. The first half was an even affair, with
both sides probing for openings but ultimately
cancelled out by well-organised defences and
disciplined midfield play. The teams went into
the break locked at 0-0.
Galacticos
found the breakthrough early in the second half
when Hamza Hafesji finished confidently to give
his side the lead. Fylde FC Old Boys responded
well and deservedly drew level through Nathaniel
Smithies, who notched his second of the tournament
to bring the scores to 1-1. As the game entered
its closing stages, Zaahir Patel stepped up
with a decisive goal late on. His strike proved
to be the winner, sealing a valuable three points
for Galacticos and preserving their 100% record.
Fylde FC Old Boys were left frustrated but showed
enough to suggest they'll be competitive moving
forward.

Flying
High, formerly known as RAF Fylingdales, return
for their seventh eurofootballfives.com appearance,
bringing with them a wealth of tournament experience
across Europe. Since debuting in 2013, they've
become seasoned regulars, with campaigns in Riga,
Gdansk, Mallorca, and three editions in Barcelona.
Their early years saw consistent Plate qualification,
including a strong 2016 showing in Riga where
they reached the Plate Semi-Finals before reaching
new heights in 2018, securing a Cup Quarter-Final
spot in Gdansk after four group-stage wins.
More
recent tournaments have been challenging, with
Flying High competing valiantly but narrowly missing
out on deeper runs. In 2019 Barcelona and 2024
Mallorca, they qualified for the Trophy and Plate
competitions respectively, showing flashes of
potential with hard-fought wins and close games.
Now, in 2025, they'll be hoping to channel that
past experience into a deep knockout run and perhaps
claim that elusive piece of silverware.
They
opened up with a 1-1 draw against Deportivo Dooradoyle
and were looking to build on that against home
team, FC Prelada.
It
was the Portuguese who edged past Flying High
in a tightly contested encounter that was decided
by a single goal from Carlos Oliveira. FC Prelada
took the lead before half-time, with Carlos Oliveira
finding the net in what proved to be the decisive
moment of the match. Flying High showed good structure
and resilience but struggled to break down a disciplined
Prelada defence. Despite a spirited second-half
push, the English team couldn't find a way through.
Prelada's compact backline and composed game management
saw them claim all three points with a valuable
victory.
