The
Veterans Plate Final brought us a truly unique
spectacle — an all-Skidmarks showdown between
Skidmarks OGs and Skidmarks 4Gs. It's not often
two sides from the same club meet in our events
– let alone a European final, and when they do,
it always makes for an intriguing dynamic. Matches
like these can sometimes be overly cautious and
respectful, or they can boil over with a little
too much competitive spirit. Fortunately, this
one found the perfect balance. Played in great
spirit and full of energy, it was everything you'd
expect from a club with a reputation for entertainment
— after all, there ain't no party like a Skidmarks
party .
Let's

This
was Skidmarks' 14th European adventure with eurofootballfives.com,
and their first at Veterans level. What a debut
it turned out to be in this category. To have
both of their squads — the OGs and the 4Gs — not
only impress in the group stages but also go all
the way to the Plate Final was a brilliant achievement
in itself. The familiar faces on both sides knew
each other's game inside out, which made predicting
a winner almost impossible. The match promised
to be tight, tactical, and very personal, with
bragging rights up for grabs for the rest of the
tour.
