With
7 teams in each group, 1 team would sit out each
round. In Round 1 it was Red Star (Eng) but they
would kick us off in the second round of fixtures
having had a chance to evaluate their opposition
from Round 1. Red Star were making their European
debut against the experienced Skidmarks OGs, who
were already enjoying a strong start to the tournament.
From
the first whistle, Red Star showed energy and
enthusiasm, keen to make an impression in their
first eurofootballfives.com outing. Their efforts
were rewarded early on when Matt Lambert scored,
marking the club's first-ever goal in a European
tournament. The goal set the tone for a spirited
display from Red Star, who looked confident moving
the ball and testing Skidmarks' defence.
Skidmarks
OGs, true to their reputation, responded with
calm and composure. Richard Keeley scored to level
the match at 1-1, ensuring the contest remained
tightly balanced. The second half was a showcase
of tactical discipline and competitive spirit
from both sides. Skidmarks looked to press for
a winner, but Red Star's defensive organisation
and commitment prevented further goals. Each team
had moments of attacking threat, with goalkeepers
called into action and defenders making crucial
interventions. The game ended 1-1, preserving
Skidmarks OGs' unbeaten start in Group A and earning
Red Star a solid first point in Europe.

Next
up was JK Silvertown A versus AFC Shooters –
both teams had competed at the 2023 Barcelona
Veterans tournament but had not met on that
occasion. They had different fortunes with JK
Silvertown going on to win the Plate whilst
AFC Shooters were eliminated at the end of the
group phase. Today, AFC Shooters were looking
to bounce back after a heavy opening defeat.
JK Silvertown A had shown their quality in the
first game and were favourites to continue their
strong start, while AFC Shooters faced an uphill
battle against tough opposition. From the outset,
JK Silvertown A imposed themselves on the game,
controlling possession and creating clear opportunities.
The
scoring opened with a goal from Chris Parillon,
giving Silvertown the lead and setting the tone
for a disciplined and clinical display. Tyron
Thomas, who had scored in the opening game,
added two more to complete a 3-0 victory, demonstrating
his consistency and finishing ability. AFC Shooters
battled hard but struggled to break down the
defending champions' organisation.
Defensively,
JK Silvertown A were resolute. Goalkeeper Tony
Varghese kept a clean sheet, making key saves
and commanding his area with authority. The
backline worked cohesively, limiting AFC Shooters
to very few meaningful chances and ensuring
Silvertown maintained their control throughout
the match.

The
final game of Round 2 saw Rapid Bosco Navas face
FC Tpaktop, with both sides looking to bounce
back after narrow defeats in their opening games.
The match promised to be tightly contested, with
both teams eager to claim their first points of
the tournament. From the start, FC Tpaktop looked
sharp and organised, quickly establishing a rhythm
that tested the Spanish side's defence.
The
opening goal came from “10”, giving FC Tpaktop
an early advantage, which was soon doubled by
“8” to make it 2-0. Rapid Bosco Navas responded
through Cecilio Garcia, pulling a goal back to
make it 2-1 and signalling that the game was far
from over. The match continued at a high tempo,
with both sides creating chances and battling
hard in midfield and defence.
FC
Tpaktop regained control when “10” scored his
second to make it 3-1, demonstrating composure
and finishing ability under pressure. Rapid Bosco
Navas fought valiantly, and Alberto Rodriguez
reduced the deficit to 3-2, keeping their hopes
alive late in the match.
Despite
the late pressure, FC Tpaktop held on for a 3-2
victory, claiming their first points of the tournament.
The win was a testament to their attacking threat
and resilience, while Rapid Bosco Navas could
take encouragement from a spirited performance
that came close to producing a comeback.
