So,
onto Round 5 we go and still plenty to play for
in Group A. Rapid Bosco Navas faced the formidable
challenge of JK Silvertown A, the defending champions
and joint leaders at the top of the table. Rapid
began the match in sixth place, four points adrift
of their opponents, but were determined to make
an impression. JK Silvertown A, meanwhile, had
the chance to open up a three-point gap at the
top with a victory, and they approached the game
with focus and purpose.
From
the outset, the English champions were in control.
Chris Wright, who had been in excellent scoring
form, struck twice to give JK Silvertown A an
early 2-0 lead, showcasing sharp finishing and
clinical movement in the final third. Rapid Bosco
Navas tried to respond and were rewarded when
Alberto Rodriguez – scoring his fourth goal of
the day across matches – reduced the deficit to
2-1, briefly bringing his side back into contention.
However,
JK Silvertown A quickly reasserted their dominance.
Chris Wright completed his hat-trick, further
underlining his attacking prowess, before John
Dillon added a fourth and Tyron Thomas – with
his fourth goal of the day – rounded off a commanding
performance. The defending champions were ruthless,
moving the ball with precision and pressing high
to prevent any chance of a Rapid recovery. The
game finished 5-1 to JK Silvertown A, a result
that sent them clear at the top of Group A and
reaffirmed their status as favourites to retain
their title. Rapid Bosco Navas showed effort and
spirit but were ultimately overpowered by a team
operating at the peak of its form and confidence.

Game
14 saw Skidmarks OGs take on AFC Shooters in
a match that carried real significance for both
sides. Skidmarks OGs began the round sitting
in 4th place, just two points off the top, and
knew that a win could propel them closer to
Cup qualification. AFC Shooters, meanwhile,
were still searching for their first points
of the tournament but had shown resilience and
improvement in recent matches, suggesting they
might yet spring a surprise.
The
early stages went to plan for Skidmarks OGs,
who asserted control and looked every bit a
side chasing honours. Neil Taylor was the man
of the moment, striking twice to put his team
2-0 up and seemingly on their way to another
valuable three points. AFC Shooters, though,
refused to roll over – a trait they've shown
throughout the day – and John Domokos pulled
one back to make it 2-1, injecting life into
the contest. However, the ever-reliable Richard
Keeley, who has scored in every game so far,
restored Skidmarks' two-goal cushion at 3-1,
continuing his phenomenal run of form. Keeley's
consistency in front of goal has been one of
the defining features of Skidmarks' campaign,
and his strike looked to have sealed the win.
Yet, the Shooters had other ideas, with Neil
Adebowale making it 3-2, both his side's goals
coming from excellent crosses by Joe Wihl, whose
delivery from wide areas was top quality all
match.
Despite
AFC Shooters' spirited efforts, Skidmarks OGs
held firm to claim their second win of the day,
extending their unbeaten record and climbing
to 2nd place in Group A. For AFC Shooters, it
was another narrow defeat but also another performance
showing plenty of fight and promise – a team
whose results may not yet reflect their improving
displays.

Game
15 brought together two teams with everything
still to play for — Red Star, fresh from their
first win and eager to keep their momentum going,
and Team Polonia Limerick, one of the early pace-setters
in Group A. With both sides harbouring ambitions
of Cup qualification, this clash carried real
weight. A win for Red Star would lift them into
the pack on seven points, while Polonia Limerick
knew victory would see them join JK Silvertown
A at the top.
For
much of the game, it was a finely balanced affair.
Red Star battled well and showed strong defensive
organisation. Polonia Limerick, however, were
patient and composed, probing for openings and
moving the ball with their usual precision. Chances
were at a premium, and as the minutes ticked away,
it looked as though Red Star's resilience would
be rewarded with a hard-earned point from a 0-0
stalemate.
But
champions know how to find a way, and Polonia
Limerick demonstrated exactly that. With the game
entering its closing stages, Patryk Staniszewski
broke the deadlock with a crucial strike to make
it 1-0, sparking relief and celebration in equal
measure. As Red Star pushed forward in search
of an equaliser, Adam Gracz capitalised on the
space to double the lead and seal a 2-0 win.
It
was a vital victory for Polonia Limerick, who
strengthened their Cup credentials and kept the
pressure firmly on the leaders. For Red Star,
it was a harsh lesson in the fine margins of tournament
football — a strong display for most of the match
but undone by two late blows. Their hopes of progressing
took a dent, but their spirited performances continue
to suggest they belong at this level.
