Group
B kicked off with an intriguing clash between
Bede FC of England and Celtic Eagles of Poland.
Bede
FC made their eurofootballfives.com debut here
in 2011 in Barcelona, earning their first European
victory with a 2-1 win over eventual Plate winners
Bristol Bridge. Despite some strong performances,
results often went against them, leaving them
finishing 5th on goal difference and entering
the Wooden Spoon Semi-Finals, where they lost
to Stamford AC. Over the following years, they
competed across Europe, including the Algarve
Open (2012, 2013), Amsterdam (2014), Bratislava
(2015), and Mallorca (2016), often finishing mid-table
but producing notable performances such as a 3-1
win over Slovakia's Donuts and an epic 10-goal
Quarter-Final thriller against Team Bear. Their
best group performance came at Mallorca 2016,
where they won 60% of their games and qualified
for the Plate Quarter-Finals before narrowly losing
to St Paul's College Old Boys. Bede FC continued
their European campaigns in the Baltics, playing
at Vilnius (2017) and Gdansk (2018), finishing
mid-table in both and exiting at the Quarter-Final
stage, to Shahs of Sunset and Bialoazzuri FC respectively.
In 2019, they competed in the Alicante Tournament,
facing increasingly tough opposition including
ASAL Sports, Cheesecake FC, Atletico San Bas,
and The Mavericks, ultimately finishing their
campaign with a 6-0 Plate Quarter-Final loss to
Alicounty. Now, Bede FC are set to compete in
the Veterans 35+ tournament in Barcelona, bringing
years of European experience and resilience to
the new challenge.
The
opening exchanges were competitive, with both
sides showing plenty of energy and organisation
as they looked to find their rhythm in the Barcelona
sunshine. Bede FC tried to establish themselves
in midfield and build patiently, but it was the
Polish side who carried the greater attacking
threat. The breakthrough came through Krystian
Waledziak, who showed quick feet and composure
to put Celtic Eagles ahead and give them the perfect
start to their campaign. As Bede FC pushed for
an equaliser, they left gaps at the back that
the Eagles were quick to exploit. Rickardo Vilaca
doubled the lead to make it 2-0, sealing the victory
and three points for Celtic Eagles. It was a strong
and disciplined performance — a statement of intent
that suggested they would be serious contenders
in Group B.

Game
2 of Group B featured Lucanos Locos from Poland
taking on JK Silvertown B from England. At the
2023 Barcelona Veterans the two teams locked
horns twice. JK Silvertown were victorious twice
with a 3-1 win in the group phase and a 1-0
win in the Plate Final. They also met at the
2024 Porto Veterans where the English team won
2-1. Lucanos Locos were gunning for revenge
although admittedly against the B team of JK
Silvertown.
From
the outset, the Polish side looked sharp and
focused, taking control of the match with purposeful
attacking play. Krzysztof Poleszuk opened the
scoring, giving Lucanos Locos the early advantage
and setting the tone for the contest.
The
momentum continued in their favour as Pawel
Zablocki added a second goal, doubling the lead
and putting JK Silvertown B under pressure.
The English side fought back, with Miles Loureiro
reducing the deficit to 2-1, keeping the match
competitive. However, Lucanos Locos struck again
through Pawel Orzechowski, sealing a 3-1 victory.
It was a confident and disciplined performance
from the Polish team, earning them three valuable
points to start their campaign in Group B.

Game
3 saw The Legends of Bulgaria make their debut
in the eurofootballfives.com Veterans tournament,
taking on Skidmarks 4Gs from England. As a team
playing in Europe for the first time, The Legends
showed composure and attacking intent from the
first whistle. Their efforts were rewarded early
when Iskren Iliev opened the scoring, giving Bulgaria
a historic first goal in the competition and setting
the tone for what was to come.
The
Bulgarian side quickly doubled their advantage
as Ivan Hristov struck to make it 2-0, demonstrating
their sharpness in the final third and their ability
to capitalise on opportunities. Skidmarks 4Gs
responded, showing the resilience that has been
a hallmark of their campaigns, and number “8”
reduced the deficit to 2-1, injecting hope and
tension into the match. For a brief moment, it
looked as though the English side could mount
a comeback and take points from the debutant team.
However,
The Legends maintained their focus and composure
under pressure. Hristov completed the scoring
with a decisive strike to seal a 3-1 victory,
leaving no doubt that Bulgaria had arrived on
the eurofootballfives.com stage in style. The
win was not just about the scoreline — it highlighted
their attacking cohesion, determination, and ability
to handle the pressures of tournament football.
For a debut performance, it was a confident start
and a game to build on for the rest of the competition.
