Game 4 saw The Maulers from England kick off their campaign against Lucanos Locos of Poland, who were already off to a winning start. The Polish side looked confident and eager to build on their opening victory, moving the ball efficiently and creating chances from the outset. Their efforts paid off as Daniel Kuty struck twice to give Lucanos Locos a 2-0 lead, putting The Maulers on the back foot early in the match.

These two teams had met before at the 2024 Porto Veterans and on that occasion Lucanos Locos recorded a relatively routine 4-1 win. Despite the deficit (and the history), The Maulers showed great character and determination. They began to assert themselves in midfield and created chances of their own, eventually converting two well-taken goals through Mark Brooksby, who brought the score level. Their resilience and fighting spirit ensured that they remained competitive throughout the contest.

The match ended in a 2-2 draw, a fair reflection of the back-and-forth nature of the game. Both teams had their moments, but neither could find a decisive winner. For Lucanos Locos, it maintained their unbeaten record, while The Maulers earned a valuable point in their opening fixture, providing a solid platform for the rest of their tournament campaign.

Game 5 saw Skidmarks 4Gs take on Bede FC, with both teams seeking their first points after opening losses. Amazingly, these two teams had not encountered each other during the history of our tournaments. Both teams began their association with us in 2011 and both have racked up 10+ tournaments but their paths had never crossed….until now.

The match started at a lively pace, and it was Rupert Harvey who gave the English side an early lead, putting Skidmarks 1-0 up and setting the tone for an exciting contest. Bede FC responded well, with Tom Broome scoring their first goal of the day to level the match at 1-1 and keep their hopes alive. Skidmarks 4Gs regained the advantage when their player known as number “8” struck to make it 2-1, before Harvey added his second to extend the lead to 3-1. Bede FC refused to give in, and Troy Grant pulled one back to make it 3-2, setting up a tense finish as they pushed for an equaliser.

In the closing stages, Harvey completed his hat-trick, scoring the decisive fourth goal to seal a 4-2 victory for Skidmarks 4Gs. It was a commanding performance that showcased their attacking quality and resilience, while Bede FC could take heart from their fighting spirit and ability to stay competitive against strong opposition.

Game 6 of Group B featured JK Silvertown B taking on The Legends of Bulgaria in a contest that highlighted the contrasting fortunes of the two teams so far. Silvertown B had suffered a disappointing defeat in their opening match and were looking to recover, while The Legends arrived in strong form, having won their debut game and made an immediate impact in the tournament. The clash promised to be competitive, but early signs suggested that the Bulgarians may have the edge.

From the first whistle, The Legends showed attacking intent, moving the ball quickly. Their first breakthrough came when Ivan Hristov found the net, giving the Bulgarian side the lead and putting Silvertown on the back foot. The goal set the tone for the rest of the match, with The Legends dictating the tempo and forcing Silvertown into a defensive posture. As the game progressed, The Legends continued to impress. Mladen Mihaylov struck to make it 2-0, doubling their advantage and ensuring that the English side would have to work exceptionally hard to get back into the match. Work they did but their efforts proved fruitless.

The 2-0 victory confirmed The Legends as early leaders of Group B, securing 6 points from a possible 6. Their performance highlighted both their attacking quality and defensive solidity, making them one of the standout teams in the early stages of the tournament. For JK Silvertown B, it was a tough result but they'd battled well.
