So, onto Round 5 we go and still plenty to play for in Group A. We turned our attentions to the foot of the table as Apolo Leyendas were due to meet Kiwi FC. The team that finished in 7th position in the table would be eliminated so this game could be pivotal for each team's hopes of reaching the Plate competition.

At the start of play it was Apolo Leyendas who held the advantage with their point against RSC Andylecht and also a superior goal difference. You felt this was a must win game for Kiwi FC.

Apolo Leyendas were the team to open the scoring as Lucas Luzio grabbed his first goal of the day. Pedro Gomes made it 2-0 as Apolo Leyendas took control of the match. A win here could put them up to fourth place in the table but their goal difference compared to the other teams in mid-table was inferior so they would need to crack on and crack on they did. A Pav Say double took his tally for the day to 3 and his team's total to 4-0 in the match. Jefferson Silve completed the 5-0 win and a morale boost for the Dutch side.

Apolo Leyendas's win meant that John Arne Riise's Pieces and RSC Andylecht would come into this game in 6th and 4th place in the table respectively. The former did have a game in hand which is important to point out. If RSC Andylecht could win this game they would move up to a share of third place. If John Arne Riise's Pieces could emerge victorious they would move up to fourth place.

As it turned out neither team could find a way to win the game. Defences were on top for both teams despite the efforts of the attacking players to find a way to break the stalemate.

The game finished goal-less and the teams would have to settle for a point each. The draw realistically meant Cup qualification was now a three horse race with the teams above them in the table. Finishing as high up the table as possible was now the priority in order to take momentum into the knockout phase and also to secure the best possible draw for the Quarter-Finals.

The 15th game of Group A was arguably the biggest game of Group A to date. It was Sharks versus Norfolk N Chance. This game was the game-in-hand for both teams relative to Mitre FC A at the top. For Norfolk N Chance this was a chance to keep their 100% record going and leapfrog the team above them to open up a 2 point lead at the summit of Group A.

It was indeed Norfolk N Chance who dealt the first blow. Josh Sullivan's second of the tournament and most valuable put the English side 1-0 up. If it stayed this way it would be very difficult for Sharks to reach the Cup as they would trail Mitre FC A by three points with just two games to go…they would need a favour from someone else. The Spanish team desperately needed at least a point to stay in it and they equalised through Ollie Varrue.

If Sharks could complete a turnaround then the 3 points would see them move level with Mitre FC A on top and see Norfolk N Chance down to third but just a point behind. It would set-up a thrilling finale to Group A.

However, we finished all square at 1-1 which was a result that saw Norfolk N Chance go level with Mitre FC A on 10 points but sit on top courtesy of goal difference. Sharks were in touching distance on 8 points but well placed with the top two still to play each other.
