The first match of Round 5 in Group B featured an important game for Chamakh Your Pitch Up and FC Dosko. For the former, they were on the precipice of Plate qualification and elimination. They needed to match or better the result of Blue Balls FC and they would be safely through to the next phase of the tournament. They would have a tough ask against a quality FC Dosko team. FC Dosko lost in Round 1 but had since put together a run of three consecutive victories. FC Dosko needed just a point to guarantee Cup qualification.

There was just the one goal in the opening half with Florin Gradinariu on target yet again for his team. It gave FC Dosko a slender 1-0 lead at half-time. The onus was now on Chamakh Your Pitch Up to force an equalizer. They had to work out what to do tactically though – if they were to lose, they had to lose narrowly as they currently enjoyed a better goal difference than Blue Balls FC. Blue Balls FC were up against FC NoeNoe so it was likely they would lose (based upon today's form guide).

The conundrum heightened in the second half when Emi Gradinariu extended the FC Dosko lead to 2-0. The English team reduced the deficit to 2-1 when Alex MacDonald found the back of the net. However, a couple of late goals for FC Dosko (Nanea Olivian, Frunza Marian) could potentially prove damaging for them later in the group. Chamakh Your Pitch Up would have to wait and see if they had done enough. FC Dosko though were safely through to the Cup Semi-Finals.

The above result meant that the Tulip Sniffers FC v Salter's Assaulters game was essentially a dead rubber in terms of Cup/Plate qualification and elimination. However, that didn't mean there was nothing to play for. Tulip Sniffers FC would want to bow out on a high and get some points on the board that their abilities had merited. Salter's Assaulters had lost their last two games and would want to build some momentum going into the Plate.

The two teams treated us to a thrilling contest and our highest scoring first half in the group as the teams racked up 5 goals between them. It was Salter's Assaulters who drew first blood. Nathan Salter and Jack Compton were both on target again as they established a 2-0 lead. Tulip Sniffers FC staged a rapid fire comeback with Kit Haig halving the deficit before Will McCreery levelled the tie at 2-2. Jack Compton restored the lead before half-time.

That fifth goal could have been a psychological killer for Tulip Sniffers FC but they responded again as Gus Hill's second of the day restored parity again at 3-3. Salter's Assaulters took the lead for the third time with Nathan Salter putting them 4-3 up but they could not shake off the Tulip Sniffers. Another equalizer came in the form of a Ross Bennett goal as we were now all square at 4-4. Perhaps it was fitting the teams shared the points after such an entertaining game. Well done to both teams. Although Tulip Sniffers FC exited the competition they did with their heads held high. Salter's Assaulters had a Plate Semi-Final to prepare for.

The final match of Group B was a high-stakes showdown between Blue Balls FC and FC NoeNoe, both teams with everything to play for. Blue Balls FC needed a point or better to climb from fifth to fourth and reach the Plate. FC NoeNoe needed a point or better to secure the Group B title – an achievement in itself but also a theoretically easier Cup Semi-Final draw.

Watching on were Chamakh Your Pitch Up who needed Blue Balls FC to lose to qualify for the Plate themselves. They must have been aghast to see Blue Balls FC take the lead through Lucas Benge with his fourth strike of the day. They would have felt happier when Ehssan Aziz levelled at 1-1 but at half-time, Blue Balls still had the result they required.

The second half saw FC NoeNoe turn the game on its head as they moved ahead for the first time thanks to a Munib ur Rahman strike. The game was then a different story as FC NoeNoe ran into the distance. Munib ur Rahman made it 3-1 before two Haroun Kamarkhel strikes either side of a Shakir Latifi goal meant the Dutch side ran out 6-1 winners. Each goal was a nail in the Blue Balls FC coffin and each goal meant that Chamakh Your Pitch Up could breathe a sigh of relief as they knew they'd be progressing to the next phase. Commiserations to Blue Balls FC, it was always going to be a tough ask against such quality opposition but they gave it a real shot and it was going so well in the first half.

Congratulations to FC NoeNoe who not only won the game but won Group B in convincing fashion with a maximum 15 points from 15 available. They had set up a tie against One Last Dance FC in the Cup Semi-Finals to come.
