FC NoeNoe were no stranger to Cup Finals in our events as they were here just 12 months ago on their way to becoming champions with a 4-2 win over Humble Goats. With victory today, they could be the first team to successfully defend the Amsterdam Sixes title. Young Stars were statistically the top ranked team in terms of goals scored, goals conceded, clean sheets and goal difference so this promised to be quite a Cup Final.

In normal time there was nothing to choose between the two teams as they were level 1-1 at half-time. Ciprian Baltariu's 8th goal of the tournament and Haroun Kamarkheyl's 7 th of the tournament cancelled each other out. At full time there was still nothing to separate the two teams as they were now level at 2-2. Haroun Kamarkheyl was our top scorer last year with 9 goals and he took today's tally to 8. Madalin Stoleriu's 12th of the tournament ensured the match would finish all square.

For the third time, the Amsterdam Sixes Cup Final would be decided via a penalty shootout. Young Stars would have the honour of getting us started. Rares Marica was up first but he saw his penalty saved by Burak Sari. Ehssan Aziz, with 5 goals today, had the chance to put FC NoeNoe in control but he saw his penalty pushed onto the post by Bogdan Berestean. Alex Balint was the first to score as he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way before Shakir Latifi levelled the scores at 1-1.

Top scorer Madalin Stoleriu was next up for Young Stars and he struck his penalty to the bottom left – the third successful spot kick to nestle in that corner. Haroun Kamarkheyl was tasked with keeping FC NoeNoe in the competition and he made no mistake to level at 2-2 and send us into sudden death.

Andrei Toma continued the love affair with the bottom left corner to put Young Stars ahead again. Captain Mostafa Lodien was up next for FC NoeNoe and must have had his heart in his mouth as Berestean went the right way but couldn't keep the ball out and we were tied again, at 3-3. Silviu Gindulescu then struck the left hand post and FC NoeNoe had their chance to win the title. Bogdan Berestean was the hero again as he saved Aryan Janatgol's penalty. Bogdan Berestean changed roles to penalty taker and he put Young Stars 4-3 up. There was some controversy as to whether there was a stutter in the run up or an actual pause/stop – the referee was happy to let the goal stand. This ramped up the pressure on Munib ur Rahman but he was up to the job as we were all square at 4-4.

We were beginning to wonder if this shootout would ever end! Madalin Stoleriu was next man up for Young Stars and his strike was emphatic, blasted down the middle. Haroun Kamarkheyl, the tournament top scorer last year and already successful in this shootout was up next. It was odds on it would be 5-5 but we were stunned as the penalty was dragged wide of the left post to spark wild celebrations amongst the Young Stars team before sporting handshakes with the FC NoeNoe team.

We offer our consolations to FC NoeNoe who were absolutely superb on the day (yet again) and put in a stunning effort. They can be very proud of their efforts and can consider themselves unlucky that despite being unbeaten on the day they haven't picked up a title this year – they could not have come much closer! I am sure 2026 can not come soon enough for them to put that right. Remarkably, FC NoeNoe remain unbeaten in eurofootballfives.com competition.

Our congratulations go to Young Stars – 2025 Amsterdam Sixes Champions! It was a great victory and a sensational way for them to announce themselves on the eurofootballfives.com scene. They were worthy winners and we invite them back next year to defend their title.

As well as team success, there was personal success for Madalin Stoleriu with 12 goals on the day. He was our top scorer and also scored what proved to be the winning penalty. Very well done to him on a personal level too.

Thank you to all the teams who competed – it was a fantastic day. We hope to see you all again at another eurofootballfives.com tournament very soon.
