With their first games under their belts it was Round 2 for all the teams in Group A and time to settle into the tournament. Up next on Pitch 4 was Humble Goats versus Shaheen's United in Group A's all-Netherlands encounter.

This was a heavyweight counter early in the tournament as the 2022 & 2023 Amsterdam Sevens champions (Humble Goats) took on the 2023 Amsterdam Sixes winners (Shaheens United). These two teams were yet to meet head-to-head in eurofootballfives.competition….until now!

Humble Goats made a strong impression early on, taking a 2-0 lead into half-time. Their attacking play was crisp, and their defensive shape kept Shaheens United at bay throughout the first period. In the second half, the Goats maintained their control and added two more goals to underline their dominance. The goals came courtesy of Raphael Olivero, Jazz Prins (2), and Youssef Yachou, as they ran out convincing 4-0 winners.

It was a superb team performance from the Humble Goats, who laid down a serious marker in the race for qualification. For Shaheens United, it was a tough result, but there's still time to regroup and bounce back in the games to come.

TNT Kent and WPL FC returned to action for their second fixtures of the day, each looking for their first points at the 2025 Amsterdam Sixes. TNT Kent had opened with a tough 3-0 defeat to Young Stars, while WPL FC had suffered a heavy 6-0 loss at the hands of Humble Goats — both teams were eager to kickstart their campaigns.

It was TNT Kent who seized the early initiative, going into half-time with a slender 1-0 lead. In the second half, they really found their rhythm, adding three more goals to assert their dominance and secure a convincing 4-1 victory. The Hungarian side's goals came from Mihaly Racz, Tamas Darago (2), and Tamas Mrav. For WPL FC, Connor Cother found the net with a consolation strike — their first goal of the tournament.

The result saw TNT Kent climb into 3rd place in Group A, breathing new life into their campaign and keeping their Plate qualification hopes well on track. For WPL FC, back-to-back defeats left them bottom of the group in 6th, with work to do in their remaining fixtures.

Young Stars and One Last Dance FC faced off in their second group game, both looking to stay in contention for the knock-out phase. Young Stars had made a strong start with a 3-0 win over TNT Kent, while One Last Dance FC opened their campaign with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Shaheens United.

It was the Dutch side who struck first, with Rares Marica giving Young Stars a 1-0 lead that they carried into half-time. In the second half, Madalin Stoleriu added a second to give his team breathing space and continue his fine run of form. James Dyson gave One Last Dance FC hope with a goal that made it 2-1, but Young Stars managed the closing stages well to see out the win.

The result saw Young Stars move joint top of the Group A table – second only to Humble Goats on goal difference – with two wins from two and just one goal conceded. Their balanced mix of attacking threat and solid defence had them shaping up as early contenders in Amsterdam. One Last Dance FC, meanwhile, remained in fourth position – still well placed to qualify for the Plate with plenty to play for in the remaining fixtures.

For the neutrals, this match had plenty to enjoy – a game played at a good tempo between two technically strong teams. One Last Dance FC showed moments of real quality, and their ability to create chances suggests they will be a threat in the matches to come. Young Stars, however, looked just that bit sharper on the day and continued to build momentum as they settled confidently into their debut tournament campaign.
