Group B kicked off with debutants De Daggoes representing the home nation against travelling team, Tilbury Douglas.

Tilbury Douglas made quite a debut last year at the 2024 Amsterdam Fives. They opened up with an excellent 3-3 draw against Shaheens United (who won the 2023 Amsterdam Sixes as Summerhouse). A 3-0 defeat followed to Jamaica Bell before a 1-1 draw against France's Argon'ze A. A third draw (2-2) in four games was next against Luca Toni FC who went on to win the tournament. They finished Group A in style with a 4-1 victory over Riises Pieces. Despite just 1 defeat and an even goal difference they finished in 4 th place. Tilbury Douglas qualified for the Plate competition and defeated Poland's AFC Blue Boys 3-0 in the Semi-Finals. In the Plate Final they renewed rivalry with Argon'ze A. This time they won 2-1 to life the trophy and collect the medals.

The opening game of Group B was a close one with the teams level 1-1 at half-time. Goals from Jayden Almeida and Sonny Richardson cancelling each other out. As the game wore on it was the Almeida & Richardson show as both went on to bag a hat-trick. Despite these two hat-tricks, it was ultimately a goal from another man entirely who wrapped up the points. That man was James Thompson as his goal saw Tilbury Douglas get off to winning ways. They won the game by the odd goal in seven, 4-3.

The second match in Group B saw two debutants go head-to-head as Italy's Totoriino took on England's RJW United. While both sides entered the tournament fresh to the Amsterdam Fives scene, it was Totoriino who quickly looked the more settled of the two. Their crisp passing and organisation paid off in the first half when Mattias Dethmers opened the scoring with a smart finish. Matteo Picco soon doubled the advantage with a composed strike, giving the Italians a 2-0 cushion at the break.

RJW United, on tour for a stag weekend, may not have had the ideal preparation for competitive five-a-side football after sampling the (in)famous Amsterdam nightlife– and a tough opening game continued in the second period. Totoriino took full control, keeping possession well and capitalising on defensive lapses. Andrea Antinolfi made it 3-0 with a well-placed effort before Nikola Marelli rounded off the scoring to make it 4-0.

While the scoreline was emphatic, RJW United had their moments – but lacked the clinical edge in front of goal. Totoriino's defence, well-marshalled and composed, shut out the threats when called upon. The Italians impressed not just in the scoreline, but in their style and intensity, suggesting they could be serious contenders for a top-two finish in Group B.

For RJW United, it was a tough start but the tournament still had a long way to go. With their first taste of action now behind them, they'll hope to dust off the cobwebs, find their rhythm, and bounce back in the next round of games. For Totoriino, it was a dream debut – clean sheet, four different scorers, and early momentum on their side.

Wentworth Arms came into the 2025 Amsterdam Fives after a positive showing at the 2024 Mallorca Tournament. On the sunshine isle they secured 4 consecutive wins against Corner Bar (Spa), RAF Fylingdales (Eng), Average Joes (Aus) and AFC Blue Boys (Pol). They finished the group with a 1-1 draw against CBT FC as they won Group A. In the Cup Quarter-Final they played out a tough 0-0 draw against W London which went to penalties. W London won 3-1 on pens as Wentworth Arms Athletic exited the competition.

With Amsterdam experiencing Mallorca-esque conditions today – bright blue sky and sunshine galore – Wentworth Arms would hope for a repeat of their Mallorca exploits. They began their campaign against CleanUpCrew.

CleanUpCrew were making their debut in our events and were from the host nation. They got off to the better start, at least in terms of goalscoring. Rajaan Prince was the man on target to open their account. Wentworth Arms were soon level though with Liam O'Connell equalising. The English side then turned the game around with Liam O'Connell on target again. He scored 5 goals in the Mallorca campaign and was up and running here in the Dutch capital.

The second half kicked off with Wentworth Arms still 2-1 up. Having wrestled the lead back from their opponents it was exemplary defence as they kept CleanUpCrew at arms' length to hold on to all 3 points. Final score, 2-1.
