Sambal Jorra FC and The Vic FC served up an exhilarating nine-goal thriller on Pitch 1 as the final round of Group A matches kicked off. With both teams in strong form, the stakes were high — Sambal Jorra FC chasing a late charge for Plate qualification and The Vic FC aiming to cement their place among the group's elite. The match exploded into life from the opening whistle as Sambal Jorra FC stormed into a 2-0 lead through early strikes from Brian Akan and Merlijn van Duinen.

The Vic FC, though, have shown great resilience throughout the tournament and weren't about to roll over. They began their comeback with a composed finish from Harrison Bradford before Ross McGuigan found the net to level the score at 2-2 going into the break. Momentum had swung, and it looked like The Vic might take control in the second half.

However, the second period quickly turned into a rollercoaster. Zerai Jinaanpersad put Sambal Jorra FC back ahead at 3-2, only for Harold Jacobs to cancel it out almost immediately with a smart equaliser. Then it was Elroy Peek's turn to restore the Dutch side's advantage at 4-3, but once again The Vic FC responded — Jacobs notching his second of the game to bring it to 4-4. The match looked destined for a draw until Elroy Peek struck again, this time delivering what would prove to be the decisive blow.

The final whistle confirmed a dramatic 5-4 victory for Sambal Jorra FC — a win that not only capped off a thrilling group stage campaign but potentially kept their tournament alive. For The Vic FC, it was a tough result to swallow after such an epic fightback, but their performances throughout Group A had already shown they were a force to be reckoned with heading into the knockout stages.

As the group phase of the 2025 Amsterdam Fives drew to a close, tension was high on Pitch 2 with so much at stake for both FC Floriande and Sutton on Tour. FC Floriande knew a win would give them a chance of Cup qualification if other results went their way, while a draw would guarantee them a place in the Plate. For Sutton on Tour, a win would see them reach the Plate. A draw would be enough provided Sambal Jorra FC did not win. A defeat would be OK provided Sambal Jorra FC also lost without a swing in goal difference

Unfortunately for the English side, they got off to the worst possible start. FC Floriande came flying out of the blocks and wasted no time asserting their dominance. Goals from Robert van't Loos, Mohamed El Otmani, and Younes El Hassani put the Dutch side in a commanding 3-0 lead by half-time, leaving Sutton on Tour stunned and reeling from the early onslaught.

Things didn't improve after the break for Sutton on Tour as van't Loos struck again, grabbing his fifth goal of the tournament and extending FC Floriande's lead to 4-0. The damage looked fatal for Sutton's qualification hopes, but to their credit, they rallied late in the game. David Dunkling netted twice to give his side a flicker of hope, but time was against them and the clock ran out on their campaign.

The final score of 4-2 was enough to secure Cup qualification for FC Floriande (with The Vic FC's loss on Pitch 1) but signalled the end of the road for Sutton on Tour. They had shown plenty of promise throughout the group, including impressive wins and clean sheets, but ultimately fell short in the final round. FC Floriande, meanwhile, lived to fight another day and would progress to the knockout rounds full of confidence.

On Pitch 3, Group A wrapped up with a clash between Bet365 aside and FC Kraken — two teams at very different ends of the table. Bet365 aside had already secured top spot and Cup qualification with a game to spare, but were chasing the perfect group stage record. For FC Kraken, the task was enormous. They needed to beat the group leaders and hope other results fell in their favour (they needed Sutton on Tour and Sambal Jorra FC Both to lose) to sneak into the Plate qualification spots. It was a tall order, and they knew it.

The game didn't start kindly for FC Kraken. A stroke of bad luck saw them concede an own goal that gifted Bet365 aside a 1-0 lead. From there, the English team showed exactly why they were topping the group with style and control. Jonathon Collo and Hal Senturk — both familiar names on the scoresheet — added further goals to take the score to 3-0 at the break. FC Kraken battled bravely but were up against an in-form and clinical opponent.

The second half saw more of the same. Collo netted again to make it 4-0 before FC Kraken finally got the reward their effort deserved. Hollie Marie Horgan bagged her third of the tournament, a bright spark in a tough match, and became FC Kraken's joint top scorer. But the response from Bet365 aside was ruthless. Collo completed his hat-trick and Hal Senturk added his second of the game to take the score to 6-1.

To their credit, FC Kraken didn't give up and had the final say with Chloe Owen's goal, bringing the final score to 6-2. Despite elimination, FC Kraken left the tournament with heads held high. Their campaign started brightly with four points from their first two games, and although they couldn't maintain momentum, they added great value to the tournament with strong performances, memorable goals, and an excellent team spirit.
