With 7 teams in Group A, one team had to sit out Round 1 and that team was Sambal Jorra FC. They must have been champing at the bit to get their campaign underway having seen all the earlier action unfold. However, that enthusiasm may have been dampened when they realised they were up against a team who had won their opening fixture 6-0.

Bet365 aside had announced themselves in style in Round 1 with a comprehensive victory over The Vic FC. An attack that was freely scoring and a rock solid defence – what's not to like? Could they repeat the dose against their Dutch opposition in Round 2. They certainly kept up their goalscoring form with Tom Rowlands and Jonathon Collo (x2) on target in the first half. They had now scored 3 goals in each half of football they'd played so far. They were not quite out of sight yet though with Jamiro Bouva on target.

The second half kicked off with Bet365 aside 3-1 ahead and they were to see out the game relatively comfortably with further goals from Matthew Bird and a second from Tom Rowlands who took his tally to 4 for the day. At the other end Danny Douve scored for Sambal Jorra FC but it merely proved to be a consolation as Bet365 aside ran out 5-2 victors.

Bet365 aside were now 2 wins from 2 and had scored 11 goals in the process, they'd laid down an early marker for their claim to the title.

Hobbema's (Ned) made their debut at the 2024 Amsterdam Fives and got off to a flyer with a 5-4 win over Hosting Threesams. They then lost 3-1 to Mironeers before returning to winning ways against VK Dons, 4-2. It was two wins on the bounce when they defeated AFC Blue Boys 3-1 before making it a hat-trick of victories when they defeated Argon'ze B 5-1. They won Group A and qualified for the Cup. In the Semi-Finals they lost to eventual champions Luca Toni FC, 4-1.

Today, they had opened up with a 2-0 win over Sutton on Tour and were looking to make it 2 wins out of 2. FC Kraken were unbeaten in their first game with a 2-2 draw but may have felt they shound be coming into this game on the back of all 3 points having lead 2-0. It was Hobbema's who broke the deadlock in this one with Sjoerd de Roij putting the Dutch team a goal up at half-time.

FC Kraken would need to stage a comeback in the second half and that's exactly what they did. Daniel Odebode restored parity with the equalising goal. The turnaround was then complete with Hollie Marie Hogan on target for the second consecutive game. This time FC Kraken didn't relinquish their lead and they took all 3 points. They now had 4 points from a possible 6 which represented a pretty solid start to their campaign.

A thrilling contest unfolded in Game 6 of Group A as The Vic FC took on FC Floriande. The Vic were looking to bounce back after a tough opening defeat, while FC Floriande had shown promise in their first game, sharing the spoils with FC Kraken. Both teams were eager to get their first win on the board, and the match started at a lively pace with chances at both ends.

It was the Dutch team who struck first, Ahmed Filali finding the net to edge FC Floriande ahead. However, The Vic showed good character in their response. Ross McGuigan wrote his name into the club's history books with their first ever goal in European competition – a huge moment for the debutants and one that levelled things up at 1-1 going into the break.

FC Floriande regained control early in the second half, as Younes El Hassani made it 2-1 with a tidy finish. When Hassan added a third, the Dutch team looked to have the game wrapped up at 3-1. But The Vic weren't done yet. Archie Aubrey pulled a goal back to offer hope, and in a frantic finish, Archie Ring fired home the equaliser to complete a spirited comeback.

The 3-3 draw felt like a fair result in the end, with both teams showcasing attacking quality and resilience. FC Floriande will feel frustrated having let a two-goal lead slip, while The Vic will take huge confidence from their first points and goals of the tournament. The group was heating up nicely with plenty still to play for.
