Group C was taking shape as we entered Round 4 with 3 teams slowly easing open a gap at the top. Two of those teams, currently in first and second, were Grant Thornton and Alphasights. A point separated the two at present with the French team holding the advantage.

If the French team could claim victory here they would open up a four point gap at the top. An Alphasights win would see them lead the table at the end of Round 4. A draw would leave the door open for The Mavericks who were chasing hard.

The early advantage was taken by Alphasights in this game as Andreas Friedberg scored for the second game in a row. It was a lead they were hold until half-time. Could they hold on until the full time whistle?

Grant Thornton were thus far unbeaten today and they showed why in the second period. They hit back with an equalizer through Thibault Kerouredan and that's the way it finished with the team's sharing the points in a 1-1 draw.

Grant Thornton maintained top spot, Alphasights remained a point behind so both were well placed going into the final round of fixtures.

Leones FC were next up and they faced Deportivo. So far, Leones had gone defeat-win-defeat. Deportivo would hope to end that pattern. The English team could consider themselves unlucky to only have 1 point from 3 games for their efforts so far but fortunes were to change.

Their top goalscorer Mathew Foster added to his tally for the day before Sam Priddy and Henry Clark both got in on the act. It was the biggest win of Group C and quite a result for Deportivo who in a flash jumped from 6th to 4th. It was a win their exploits for the day had deserved.

The final game of Round 4 in Group C would go a long way into deciding the Cup qualification places. The Mavericks were unbeaten thus far and had just secured their first win. If they could grab a second win they would go level with Grant Thornton on 8 points and a 3-goal win would even see them top on goal difference.

Team GB had started well with a win but two successive defeats had checked their progress and in the provisional table they had slipped to 5th place. A win here would change all that and see them climb back up the table.

At half-time the destination of the points were undecided and we were all square at 1-1. Manish Madhvani with the goal for The Mavericks, Janish Patel with the goal for Team GB. After the break Indi Gill's fifth goal of the tournament put Team GB ahead The Mavericks were staring first defeat in the face.

The next goal was going to be crucial – could The Mavericks level or could Team GB put the game to bed. Janish Patel's second goal of the game ensured it was the latter. It was a superb 3-1 victory and Team GB ended Round 4 in 3rd position. The defeat for Team Maverick saw them slip to 4th position but the group was still very tight.
