Nothigam Pressa were kicking us off in the first game of Round 4 when they took on Mestallaban. Following opening game defeat, the Irish team were now undefeated in two games with 4 points out of a possible 6. The Spanish team could not buy a point (no bribery in eurofootballfives.com tournaments) and found themselves bottom of the pile despite some good football. We should point out that Notigham Pressa have not tried to bribe us….this isn't Serie A!

We reached half-time all square at 0-0. It was the third successive half that Mestallaban had played without a goal – for or against. They were proving a really tough nut to crack. Notigham Pressa were level at half-time for the third time in four games which really goes to prove it was their second half performances that had thus far let them down.

The second half was to be the Spanish team's undoing again as they lost out by the odd goal in three. Emmet Egan was the hero for Mestallaban as he claimed both goals in the second half to earn the 2-1 win.

On the scoreboard we moved Mestallaban up into second place above Club Tropicana Drinks FC on goal difference but having played a game more. Notigham Pressa remained rooted to the bottom of Group B.

Our league leaders were next in action as FC Miracle took on Club Tropicana Drinks FC. Before Mestallaban's result above this was a top of the table clash. With a 100% record, FC Miracle could claim the Group B title with a win here. A draw would see them lead by three points and almost certainly make the Cup competition. A win for Club Tropicana Drinks FC would see them go top.

If FC Miracle's supremacy was challenged by Club Tropicana Drinks FC they sought to crush such a challenge in emphatic style. FC Miracle turned in their best performance of the day and wasted no time in establishing a 4-0 lead by the break. Janos Molnar got the ball rolling, Csaba Balogh added a second before Laszlo Zsolt added his 9th and 10th of the tournament – the leading contender for the top goalscorer prize.

After the break FC Miracle were reigned in a little as David Sajic scored for Club Tropicana Drinks FC but further goals from Csaba Balogh to complete his hat-trick ensured a 6-1 victory for the Hungarians. The result meant that with a game to go they had already qualified for the Cup as Group B winners.

Club Tropicana Drinks FC would need to put this result behind them as they were still in a healthy position in Group B with one game to go.

FC Dad and Kings Old Boys met with the teams in 4th and 5th position with just the 1 goal separating them on goal difference. With the results above it meant that these teams were 4 points adrift of those above them so they needed a win to keep in touch for the last Cup qualification place and failing that qualification for the Plate. A draw would surely see the teams battle it out in the last round for 4th place and a defeat would almost certainly mean a place in the Trophy awaited the losers.

There was clearly much at stake and come half-time we were level at 0-0 by half-time – a result that suited no-one really. The team's needed to find a goal in the second half to turn one point into three but while there was much to gain there was also much to lose so the game was a nervy affair too.

In the end the game would be decided by just the one goal. The hero of the hour was Kings Old Boys' Danny Bell. His strike would maintain their 4th place position and put them just a point behind those in second. They had every chance of making the Cup with a win in the final round.

FC Dad were suddenly not sitting too pretty. They were in 5th place and could conceivably make the Plate if they were to win and Kings Old Boys were to lose in the final fixtures.
