This was a Cup Final between JK Silvertown and Polonia Limerick. A Cup Final between the 2024 Porto Veterans winners and 2024 Porto Super Veterans winners. JK Silvertown had been superb all day, combining discipline, skill, and relentless energy to reach the final unbeaten. Their teamwork, movement, and tactical awareness made them a formidable opponent, and they matched Polonia every step of the way.

The first half was a tense, closely fought affair, with both sides cancelling each other out and creating only limited openings. Defences were on top, goalkeepers were commanding their areas, and the quality on display was a testament to the level of the Super Veterans tournament. The score remained 0-0 at half-time, reflecting just how evenly matched the teams were.

In the second half, Polonia Limerick found the breakthrough thanks to Lech Madajek, who scored his 8th goal of the day to secure the win. Fittingly it was the 100th goal of the tournament. Madajek's clinical finishing and composure under pressure were emblematic of Polonia's performance throughout the tournament. It was the only goal of the game as Polonia Limerick saw the game out efficiently although a late strike against the post almost earned the English team a penalty shootout. The Polish side were outstanding in every department — disciplined at the back, solid in midfield, and lethal in attack in a game of few chances — showing exactly why they were the defending champions and why they have now lifted both the Porto and Barcelona Super Veterans titles.

For JK Silvertown, the narrow defeat does little to diminish an exceptional day. Their quality, spirit, and consistency were a joy to watch, and they pushed Polonia to the very limit in a match that could have gone either way. Polonia Limerick's retention of the title is a remarkable achievement, and with both teams setting such a high standard, the anticipation for next year is already building. Will Polonia complete a hat-trick? The Polish team are now unbeaten in 2 years at this age group. The destination of the 2026 edition of this event is yet to be confirmed, but one thing is certain — the Super Veterans tournaments continue to deliver football of the highest level and unforgettable moments.

Special congratulations must go to Lech Madajek, who finished as the top scorer of the tournament. His clinical finishing, intelligence in the box, and consistency throughout the day were instrumental in Polonia Limerick's success. Scoring eight goals in the tournament, Madajek demonstrated why he is such a key player for his team. His goals not only secured victories but also inspired his teammates, and his prolific scoring made him one of the standout performers of the entire eurofootballfives.com Super Veterans event.

Thank you to all the teams who competed – it was a fantastic day. We hope to see you all again at another eurofootballfives.com tournament very soon. Who can stop Polonia Limerick next year?
