The Plate Final saw RSC Andylecht and Argon'ze B renew acquaintances after a close encounter in the group phase that ended 1-0 to the English side. With both teams having grown in confidence as the tournament progressed, another tight contest was expected — and that's exactly how it unfolded. Both sides defended with great discipline in a first half that was full of effort, intensity, and structure rather than clear-cut chances. RSC Andylecht looked to repeat their earlier success through the combination play of Chris Bishop and Patrick Coulter, while Argon'ze B relied on the power and directness of Charles Balayssac to trouble the English backline. At the break, it remained goalless and finely balanced.

After the restart, it was the smallest of margins that would make the difference. Once again, it was that man Chris Bishop who proved decisive, continuing his knack of scoring at crucial moments. His well-taken finish gave RSC Andylecht the lead and, as it turned out, the title. Argon'ze B pushed hard to respond — committing bodies forward and forcing Tim Smith into action — but the English defence stood firm, showing excellent organisation and work rate. As the clock ticked down, Andylecht's composure and discipline ensured they held their narrow advantage all the way to the final whistle.

When the referee signalled full time, RSC Andylecht could finally celebrate a hard-fought 1-0 victory — a result that perfectly reflected their resilience and clinical edge throughout the day. It was a second win over Argon'ze B in the tournament, achieved once again by the same scoreline and same scorer, in what felt like a perfect sense of déjà vu. Both sides could be proud of their performances, but it was RSC Andylecht who claimed the silverware.

Commiserations to Argon'ze B, who once again came agonisingly close to glory. This defeat marked their third eurofootballfives.com final and, cruelly, their third runners-up finish — following losses in the 2019 Budapest Fives Trophy Final (2-0 v GSF Drunkerz) and the 2024 Amsterdam Fives Plate Final (2-1 v Tilbury Douglas). They continue to be one of our most consistent and competitive travelling teams, and surely it's only a matter of time before they convert their fine form into a long-awaited tournament triumph.

Congratulations to RSC Andylecht, our 2025 Barcelona Fives Plate champions. To win the title while missing key players and playing the entire day with the bare minimum of five was a superb achievement. Their spirit, organisation, and determination shone through from start to finish, and their ability to grind out results in tight games was the mark of a true champion side. A thoroughly deserved success for a team that epitomised teamwork, discipline, resilience and fitness.
