Group
B, Game 6 was one of the most anticipated fixtures
of the group stage as RSC Andylecht and Sharks
renewed their Barcelona rivalry from the previous
edition of the tournament. In 2023, the Spanish
side had come out on top 2-0 with Savvas Eftychidis
scoring both goals. Eftychidis was in today's
line-up. RSC Andylecht wound have been eager to
make amends. The stakes were high — with just
a single point separating the top four sides,
the match could have a huge bearing on qualification
for the Cup. The early exchanges were cagey, but
Sharks quickly found their rhythm. They opened
the scoring through Tom Frumerman, whose clinical
strike settled any early nerves and gave the hosts
the advantage.
From
there, Sharks began to turn on the style. They
doubled their lead through Markus Johansson, who
finished off a slick passing move that summed
up the team's technical quality and attacking
flair. RSC Andylecht had chances of their own,
showing flashes of the ability that we knew they
possessed. However, every time they looked to
push forward it seemed Sharks would punish them
with speed and precision on the break. The in-form
Joel Garcia continued his fine tournament with
another brace, taking the game away from the English
side before they could mount a serious comeback.
The
4-0 scoreline was emphatic and underlined just
why Sharks were top of the group. They not only
opened up a three-point lead at the summit but
also strengthened their already impressive goal
difference, which could yet prove decisive in
the race for Cup qualification. For RSC Andylecht,
it was a tough result against a team firing on
all cylinders, but their performance still showed
enough spirit to suggest they remained well in
contention for a knock-out place. For Sharks,
it was another statement victory and one that
established them as favourites to finish as Group
B winners.

CF
Fuego knew they had a crucial opportunity in this
Group B clash against Southgate County. Sitting
second in the table, a win would see them move
joint top and put them in the driving seat for
Cup qualification. Southgate County, positioned
fifth, faced a tough task — they needed at least
a draw to keep their slim hopes of advancing alive.
The first half was tight, but CF Fuego managed
to find a breakthrough, going 1-0 up at the interval.
It was a crucial goal that allowed them to control
the tempo in the second half, while Southgate
County struggled to find any attacking rhythm.
The
second half was a masterclass from CF Fuego, as
they turned a narrow lead into a resounding victory.
Tom Allington opened up his scoring account for
the day with a hat-trick, while Josh Furlonger
added his second goal of the tournament, following
up on his goal from the previous game. Ed Goggs
capped off the scoring, continuing his streak
of scoring in every game of the tournament. The
5-0 scoreline not only represented the second-biggest
win of the competition so far but also showcased
CF Fuego's attacking depth and cohesion.
This
win elevated CF Fuego to joint top of Group B,
though they were second on goal difference by
a single goal. Their commanding display sent a
strong message to the rest of the tournament:
they were serious contenders for the Cup. For
Southgate County, the heavy defeat left little
hope of progressing — their campaign was all but
over, and their attention would now turn to finishing
the group phase with pride (and focus on the Sevens).
CF Fuego, meanwhile, could take confidence from
their attacking firepower and consistency, heading
into the final round with momentum and belief.

Argon'ze
B went into this game knowing they had a game
in hand on the other teams in Group B and that
a win here could keep their Cup hopes alive. Sharks,
by contrast, needed only a draw to secure their
place in the Cup, but a win would give them a
realistic chance of topping the group. The two
sides had met at the 2022 edition of the tournament,
with Sharks winning 4-2, so the French were hoping
to reverse history and show a stronger performance
this time. From the start, Sharks were assertive,
taking control of possession and territory, leaving
Argon'ze B chasing the game.
By
half-time, Sharks had opened up a 2-0 lead, thanks
to clinical finishing from Markus Johansson and
Joel Garcia. Argon'ze B tried to respond, but
Sharks' organisation at the back and quick transitions
kept the French at bay. The second half continued
in the same vein, with Sharks maintaining their
advantage and seeing out the match without conceding.
Despite Argon'ze B's efforts, the scoreline remained
2-0, a solid performance by the Spanish side and
a disappointment for the French who needed a win.
The
goals from Markus Johansson and Joel Garcia not
only secured the three points but also extended
Garcia's tally to seven goals for the tournament,
putting him second in the scoring charts. This
result ensured Sharks maintained their position
for Cup qualification and gave them momentum going
into the knockout phase. It also meant they had
navigated 4x group phases in our tournaments without
losing a game. In 19 group phase matches they
had won 14, drawn 5 whilst scoring 41 goals and
conceding just 10. They had amassed 47 points
out a possible 57 – seriously impressive. Argon'ze
B, meanwhile, would need to regroup and focus
on their remaining fixtures if they were to keep
their dreams of reaching the Cup alive.

RSC
Andylecht went into their final game knowing that
a win would secure them a place in the Plate,
while Southgate County faced a steep uphill battle.
They needed not only a win but also a combination
of results elsewhere to give them a chance of
progressing. The game started competitively, but
RSC Andylecht quickly took control and opened
the scoring, putting themselves in a strong position.
Southgate County responded and managed to equalise,
courtesy of an own goal, keeping their hopes alive
temporarily.
By
half-time, RSC Andylecht had regained the lead,
going 2-1 up, with both teams showing attacking
intent but RSC's composure proving decisive. In
the second half, RSC Andylecht extended their
advantage, dominating play and demonstrating a
clinical finishing touch. A goal from Chris Bishop
and a hat-trick from Patrick Coulter completed
the scoring, ensuring a 4-1 victory.
The
win confirmed RSC Andylecht's progression to the
Plate, rewarding their consistent performances
throughout the group stage. Southgate County,
despite their efforts, were eliminated from the
tournament. It was a comprehensive display from
RSC Andylecht, showing they were well-deserving
of a spot in the knockout stages, while Southgate
County were left to reflect on a brave but ultimately
unsuccessful campaign.

The
match that brought Group B to its conclusion was
a fascinating fixture with both sides knowing
exactly what was at stake — but for very different
reasons. CF Fuego were already assured of a Cup
semi-final place but were determined to try and
snatch top spot in Group B. Argon'ze B, meanwhile,
had confirmed their place in the Plate but were
eager to finish third and improve their semi-final
draw. With both teams needing a win for their
respective goals, the match was set up for an
open and attacking contest — and it didn't disappoint.
CF Fuego began strongly, taking an early lead,
but Argon'ze B hit back through Charles Balayssac,
levelling the score and reminding the English
side they wouldn't have things their own way.
The
intensity continued throughout the first half,
and CF Fuego's sharp finishing soon saw them regain
control. Two goals from Rory Annandale and another
from Ed Goggs put them 3-1 ahead by half-time
— a scoreline that reflected their dominance in
possession and efficiency in front of goal. Argon'ze
B were not out of it, though, and kept battling
with great spirit. Their persistence paid off
when Balayssac struck again to make it 3-2, bringing
the game back to life and giving the French side
belief they might yet find a late equaliser.
In
the end, CF Fuego held firm to take all three
points and finish the group stage with confidence
high. The 3-2 win wasn't quite enough to overturn
the goal difference they needed to claim first
place, but it maintained their unbeaten record
and ensured they carried strong momentum into
the Cup semi-finals.
