Group C was really hotting up as we entered Round 4. Match 10 of the group promised to be an intriguing encounter between DHL Prague and Spider Mans & Eagle. These two teams were the early pace-setters and whilst Spider Mans & Eagle had maintained their 100% record, DHL Prague had slipped up in Round 3.

Spider Mans & Eagle could guarantee a Cup place with a win. At this stage qualification alone seemed not to be their only goal. There was an urgency and a ruthlessness about their play that appeared like they wanted to win Group C in style and lay down a marker to the other teams in the tournament.

Things did not go to plan early on for the English team as it was an Englishman from Prague, Dan Finley, who gave DHL Prague the league. For DHL Prague it was just what they would have wanted and gave them a platform to bounce back quickly from their defeat in the last game and show that was just a blip.

Spider Mans & Eagle hit back in the second half and equalized through Ryan Stevens. The comeback was complete when Paul Williams made it 2-1. Spider Mans & Eagle had turned this game on its head and ran out 2-1 victors. Their 100% winning record was intact and they now had a 6 point lead at the top of Group C. They would be playing Cup football this afternoon.

It was a massive blow for DHL Prague who still had a shot at qualification if they could win their final game.

9 Nana Budds versus Nowa Huta Team was next up in what was a very interesting game at the top of Group C. With DHL Prague having lost, the other 2 teams on 6 points would come face-to-face. If either team could secure victory here they would have one foot in the Cup competition with just 1 further game to play.

9 Nana Budds struck first through Will Crowther and as we have seen today when they take the lead they often go on and win. They retained their 1-0 lead until half-time and it looked like business as usual. Nowa Huta Team hit back to equalize through Karol Rzepecki and we were all level at 1-1.

Nowa Huta Team then hit the front when Pawel Sobczyk made it 2-1 with his third goal of the day. Could 9 Nana Budds respond? Yes they could. It was Will Crowther again who found the back of the net and we were level again – this time at 2-2.

The draw edged both teams that little bit closer to the Cup but helped neither really. Both teams had work to do in their final fixture and DHL Prague will have been happy to see neither team moving out of reach of them.

The game that would take us into the final round of fixtures would be Odmienowie FC versus Fleet Street Elite A. As things currently stood the two teams were level on zero points with goal difference separating them in 5th and 6th position. A win here would help either team avoid the Wooden Spoon. A draw would be beneficial to Odmienowie FC who had the better of the two goal differences. With the 6th placed teams in Groups A & B on nil point then a draw could help both reach the Plate.

With the action underway it was Fleet Street Elite A who hit the front. Jamie Rayat struck his team's first goal of the day. They didn't have to wait too long for a second as James Crombie fired home a second before the turnaround.

Two goals in the first half were followed by two goals in the second half as Fleet Street Elite A showed no mercy in a ruthless performance. George Little claimed both of them and after the river had run dry in the first three games the floodgates had opened for Fleet Street Elite A.

Fleet Street Elite A clearly didn't want a Wooden Spoon.
