Round 2 started with Fleet Street Elite A versus DHL Prague. The former had lost their opening fixture narrowly whilst and the latter had claimed an emphatic victory so a simplistic prediction would be to plump for an away win.

Fleet Street Elite FC, as we have seen in the write up to Group A, were making a third eurofootballfives.com appearance. This was the first time they had entered two squads. Their core squad (for want of a better phrase) made their debut at the 2013 Lisbon Tournament making a fine start with a 5-2 victory over Breckland FC. Defeat followed to Hungary's Csabagyongye before victory over FC Dad (1-0) and 2 defeats to the 2 Portuguese sides in their group. They finished 4 th in their group and qualified for the Plate Semi-Finals before going out to FC Dynamoes. Their 2 nd appearance was at the 2015 Budapest Fives where they finished 4th in their group to progress to the Plate competition. They drew 2-2 in the Quarter-Finals with Peckham Legends to go on and win the penalty shoot-out. A narrow 1-0 defeat to Spain's Naranjitos saw them exit at the Semi-Final stage.

Having lost the opening game they found themselves trailing at the break in this one as DHL Prague's Rupert Baltrock opened the scoring. The Czech team scored 4 in their first match and were on the goal trail again. Lukas Lesbovsky, Baltrock again and Dan Finley all found the net as they struck four again to record a fine 4-0 win. DHL Prague were on the charge.

Nowa Huta Team were up next as they took on Odmienowie FC. We had two teams who had tasted defeat in Round 1 and would surely be looking to bounce back as quickly as possible in Round 2.

This was the first time we had seen the Odmienowie FC name in eurofootballfives.com action but members of the squad had played before in the 2011 Algarve Open. They were the sister squad of Misfits FC.

It was Nowa Huta Team who struck first through Karol Rzepecki. 1-0 became 2-0 when Pawel Sobczyk scored his second in as many games. Although Nowa Huta Team were on debut Pawel Sobczyk had played in the Krakow Trophy before and was part of the Hutnik team who were victorious here in 2010.

After the break there was a goal each for Daniel Kozien (Nowa Huta Team) and Chris Galvin (Odmienowie FC). Final score, 3-1. Nowa Huta Team were off and running with their first victory of the day. For Odmienowie FC the wait would go on.

To complete Round 2 we had Spider Mans & Eagle versus 9 Nana Budds. It was a contest between two first game victors and a second win for either side would see them join DHL Prague at the top of Group C.

Both teams had been solid at the back in Round 1 with 9 Nana Budds keeping a clean sheet and Spider Mans & Eagle just conceded a consolation goal whilst continuing to attack. In fact, 9 Nana Budds group phase strength over the years has been built on defensive solidity – they had conceded just 13 goals in 17 previous group games. It was therefore no surprise that we reached half-time all square, 0-0, in this one.

After the break Spider Mans & Eagle found a way past Tim Moore in the 9 Nana Budds goal as Ryan Stevens struck to put Spider Mans & Eagle 1-0 up. It was a goal that would earn his team all three points.

The result put Spider Mans & Eagle level on 6 points with DHL Prague at the top of the table but they were second on goal difference. 9 Nana Budds were in 3rd place but with three games to go were still well placed in the chasing pack to gain Cup qualification.
