* FC Broxelona A (Eng) won 2-0 on penalties.

The first Plate Semi-Final was between Vilag Valogatott and FC Broxelona B. Vilag Valogatott came into the Plate as the highest ranked of the competing teams with 9 points from their 5 group games. As they finished 3rd in Group A you could arguably say they were favourites against the team that finished 4th in Group B with 6 points.

The game didn't pan out that way with Luke Hoban having an early chance for FC Broxelona B but he saw his strike cannon back off the bar. It was then Vilag Valogatott who had the next big chance but the game remained at 0-0. The deadlock was then broken as Luke Hoban this time found the back of the net for 1-0.

After the break Vilag Valogatott drew level thanks to a goal from Hugo Simon. The game was still very much in the balance. FC Broxelona B hit the front though when Jason Ayton scored from a free-kick to send his team through to the Plate Semi-Finals.

It was a good debut overall for Vliag Valogatott but their day was now over.

So, who would meet FC Broxelona B in the Plate Final? It would be either FC Broxelona A or Athletic Pasty.

There was very little between the two teams in the group phase as Athletic Pasty finished with 7 points compared to FC Broxelona A's 6 points so we expected a close contest and a close contest is what we got.

The conditions weren't the best for the game as a torrential downpour engulfed the game but the teams battled on. Neither team could score in the opening period and so the teams turned around at 0-0. The second half followed the pattern of the first and so we finished at 0-0 meaning a penalty shoot-out would be required to settle this tie.

It would be Athletic Pasty to take the first penalty but it was not a good start as the penalty was missed. The door was open for FC Broxelona A who took full advantage with Luke Blackwell converting for 1-0. Up next was Joe Jackson for Athletic Pasty who scored 5 goals in the group phase but he saw his penalty saved and so the score remained at 1-0. Up stepped Daniel Turnham who could send his team through to the Plate Final – he scored and the shoot-out was won 2-0.

Our commiserations go to Athletic Pasty who missed out on a European Final in the proverbial lottery of penalties. FC Broxelona A would meet their B time in the Plate Final.
