Group B began with CIS Committee versus Budapest Celtic Hoops.

CIS Committee made the journey to Budapest for the third successive season. Their eurofootballfives.com journey began in 2011 when they became the first team from Belarus to compete in our tournaments. They showed sensational form in the group phase winning their first four games before finishing with a draw as they won Group B. They were then surprisingly defeated in the Cup Quarter Finals via Golden Goal 2-1 to Dark Horses. They returned to action in 2014 when they competed in both the Budapest Fives and Bratislava Fives. They were unbeaten in both as they won both titles.

In 2015, they were looking to win a third straight title and become only the second team in eurofootballfives.com history to defend a title (Athletico Do Hollande won the 2010 & 2011 Algarve Open). Things were looking good as they reached the Cup Final and lead 1-0 in the early stages. Their opponents, Csabagyongye then hit back to win 2-1. Can CIS Committee win the title back in 2016?

It all began pretty well for them as they opened up a 1-0 lead at half-time. Andrei Lauryk grabbed the goal that put the time from Minsk in control. It was a pretty close game and the 1-0 lead enabled CIS Committee to control it with unhurried possession. They looked content at 1-0 and were patient for chances to come their way. Valeri Ivashka came close to making it 2-0 but shot wide. It didn't matter, CIS Committee won 1-0.

Next up was FC Broxelona B against Athletic Pasty - both of England. Both teams were on debut and so they had a blank canvas upon which to paint their footballing artistry. Let the games commence……

It was defences and goalkeepers on top after the early exchanges and we reached half-time with the two teams level at 0-0. As so often is the case the second half opened up a little and we had a couple of goals to savour. It was FC Broxelona B who took the lead through their number 3210 – Jack Baker.

So who would grab the second and final goal of the game – would it be FC Broxelona B to secure victory or Athletic Pasty earning a point? If you were an Athletic Pasty then you would be celebrating Joe Jackson's goal that made it 1-1.

It was a solid start to the 2016 Budapest Fives for both teams.

Game 3 of Group B saw LMH FC taking on Fejlodes. Just as in the game above we had two teams on debut who were about to begin writing their own footnotes in the annals of eurofootballfives.com history.

It was England versus Hungary and it was first blood to the English team. Simon Lewis claimed the team's first goal in @eurofootball5 action. It was the perfect start and with LMH FC looking tight at the back it could well be a winning start. LMH FC retained the 1-0 lead until the half-time turnaround.

On the pitch there didn't look to be too much between these two teams and both teams looked well organised. Fejlodes were arguably the youngest team in the tournament draw and showed they were more than capable of competing but were unable to turn that youthful exuberance into goals. LMH FC were unable to extend their lead but crucially were able to keep their opponents at bay and see out a 1-0 victory.

LMH FC, along with CIS Committee, were our early pace-setters in Group B.
