Two rounds to go and 6 games of football left on the schedule to decide the teams' fates in Group B. Mitre FC Vets would take to the field for their final fixture against an FC Miracle team who had a game in hand.

Mitre FC Vets were in fifth position with 4 points. Following an opening game victory they had taken 1 point from the last 4 games and so had slipped down the table. They needed to finish 6th or above to reach the Plate competition. The two teams below them were only a point behind so they ideally needed to pick up points from this one. They were up against the league leaders though.

FC Miracle were still unbeaten although they had seen their 100% win record go last time out following a 1-1 draw with Dickie Dogs. This had given FC Poloboc a chance to close the gap at the top to one point. FC Miracle were in action before their closest rivals in Round 6 so would dearly love to extend that lead to 4 points to ensure going into Round 7 in first place.

FC Miracle put that blip against Dickie Dogs behind them and returned to winning ways. Istvan Nemeth got them up and running with Janos Molnar making it 2-0. Gergely Nemeth and Janos Gal made it 3-0 and 4-0. Gergely Nemeth's second of the game sealed a 5-0 win. It was their joint best win of the day and they were back in control of Group B. Cup qualification was now also guaranteed.

FC Poloboc had just seen FC Miracle open up a 4 point lead at the top of Group B. They could reduce that lead back to 1 point with a win against their next opponents, AFC Shooters. FC Poloboc also had Dickie Dogs breathing down their necks who were just a point behind them and were on field after this game. FC Poloboc also needed to win to guarantee second position going into Round 7.

AFC Shooters stood in their way who were in a battle of their own for Plate qualification. They had slipped to 7th of the table following a defeat to Bure Park Old Boys but they could not let that demoralize them as they were still only a point off fifth position so their tournament was very much alive.

FC Poloboc had won 3 games on the bounce and this form continued with Victor Zagorneanu opening the scoring. Andrian Cucovei made it 2-0 and Veaceslav Borta made it 3-0. FC Poloboc had now scored 13 goals without reply. Until now….AFC Shooters reduced the deficit to 3-1 but it was to be a mere consolation. FC Poloboc marched on.

That left us with Bure Park Old Boys and Dickie Dogs to complete Round 6. Dickie Dogs were the final members of the Cup chasing triumvirate in action and if they could take all 3 points it would mean three teams within 2 points of each other going into the final round of games. This would be a fantastic achievement for Dickie Dogs given the strength of the opposition.

Bure Park Old Boys were in desperate need of the points themselves. They had just picked up their first win of the day and moved off the bottom of Group B. If they could make it two wins out of two they would move into fourth place and secure Plate qualification. It was close at the foot of the table too with two points separating fourth from seventh.

It was Dickie Dogs who drew first blood with Mike Llewellyn opening his personal account for the day. Caspar Clark, a veteran of many of these trips, doubled the advantage to make it 2-0 and Dickie Dogs were looking good to consolidate third position in the table. It was a third clean sheet for David Garcia Gallego who was making a record 14 th tournament appearance at the Barcelona Fives – 12 for Rapid Bosco Navas, 1 for CBD Boys of Oman and now 1 for Dickie Dogs.

It was all to play for, for all teams, as we headed into Round 7.
