These two teams had met before in the group phase and on that occasion had played out a 0-0 draw. It didn't really give us a clue as to a potential outcome of this final other than to expect a close game.

In contrast to that 0-0, the Plate Final proved to be a thrilling goal-fest with non-stop action and a roller-coaster ride for the two teams. FNF on Tour drew first blood when their top scorer, Trevor Elliot, found the back of the net. It was the first goal Dynamo Leila had conceded for three games but they quickly responded and found an equalizer. The first half ended with both teams locked in a hard-fought battle and the scoreline reflecting that at 1-1.

As the second half kicked off, the intensity and competitiveness of the match continued. FNF on Tour once again took the lead courtesy of Trevor Elliot. Elliot proved to be a constant threat, scoring his second goal of the match and his fourth of the tournament. It was over to Dynamo Leila to stage another comeback and they did just that when James Barton found the back of the net. Barton's goal levelled the score at 2-2, setting the stage for an exhilarating finale. If the game was to end in a draw we would require a penalty shootout to settle this. With the match evenly poised, both teams pushed forward in search of a decisive goal. Dynamo Leila's James Barton proved to be the hero of the day, scoring a sensational winner in the dying embers of the game. Barton's strike sent the Dynamo Leila fans into raptures, securing a 3-2 win for his team.

For FNF on Tour it was a bitter blow and disappointment to fall just short of success in such dramatic fashion. For now, they had to be content with runners-Up medals but we hoped, once the dust had settled, they would look back on their performance over the course of the day with pride. We hope to see them again at the event for another crack at the title.

Huge congratulations though to Dynamo Leila on winning their first eurofootballfives.com silverware. They did it in sensational fashion and crowned a fantastic performance. No doubt they would celebrate their success in style and those Saturday night beers would taste so much sweeter knowing they had secured a famous victory.
