Group B began with Foot 130 B in action against Bonde Sem Freio as France played Portugal just as in the final of the 2016 European Championships (which happened to be played on the same day as our 2016 Lisbon Tournament!).

Although the ‘B' team, Foot 130 B had a highly successful group stage at the 2024 Prague Tournament. The B team won Group B with 13 points from a possible 15. It looked like the A & B teams were on course to meet in the Cup Final. The B team had a stern test against Mitre FC A in the Cup Semi-Finals. It was an end to end contest which the English team managed to edge 3-2. Could the B team go further in Lisbon?

Bonde Sem Freio were looking to make an instant impression on their eurofootballfives.com debut and it was the Portuguese side who drew first blood. Jhon Silva found space and coolly slotted home to give Bonde Sem Freio a 1-0 lead going into the break. Foot 130 B had chances of their own but couldn't quite find the cutting edge needed in a closely contested first half.

After the restart, Bonde Sem Freio doubled their advantage through Diogo Zovo, who struck to put his team firmly in the driving seat. Foot 130 B refused to go down without a fight, and Yoan Malard's goal gave them a lifeline heading into the closing stages. However, the comeback fell short, and Bonde Sem Freio held on to secure a confidence-boosting 2-1 win in their opening match. A promising start for the Portuguese side and a solid platform to build from in Group B.

Last season Dumpling CF appeared at the 2024 Mallorca Fives. They began against former champions Maruru with a superb 1-0 win. This was followed up with a 2-0 defeat against Eltham International (who have just won the Plate at the 2025 Porto Tournament). They were held to a 1-1 draw against Sutton on Tour before a narrow 2-3 defeat against eventual champions, Team Rock. Their group campaign ended with a 2-2 draw against RAF. They finished 4 th of 6 teams to qualify for the Plate. In the Quarter-Finals they recorded a great 4-0 win over Sheffield Thursday. Their run ended in the Semi-Finals after a slender 1-0 loss to The Yol.

Dumpling CF would begin their campaign against Bendeeca (more on them later) and they got off to a cracking start with Daniel O'Mahony putting his team 1-0 up in the first half. It was a lead they would maintain until the break. The goal would not be enough to bag all 3 points as Bendeeca staged a comeback in the second period. Andy Evans was on target to level the match up at 1-1. When the final whistle blew it was honours even as the teams claimed a point each.

RAF (Por) made their debut at the 2015 Algarve Open playing as Futeboladas and surged to victory. They finished 2nd in their group with 4 wins out of 5 to RC Lens. They won a 4-3 thriller in the Cup Quarter-Finals against Algarve Stars before a 3-1 win over Why Always Morris in the Semi-Final. They then met RC Lens again in the Cup Final. RC Lens won the group game (2-0) but Futeboladas won the game that really mattered (3-0) to collect the title. They have appeared many times since both in Portugal (Algarve, Lisbon & Porto) and abroad (Barcelona, Krakow, Amsterdam, Mallorca) but had not quite managed to get over the winning line again despite coming very close on many occasions finishing runner-up and semi-final defeats. It has also seen them pick up two Plate wins as well.

RAF1 would begin their campaign against Foot 130 B who had already warmed up in a 2-1 defeat to Bonde Sem Freio. It was Foot 130 B who struck first with William Dien on target. The lead did not last long though with Rafael Santos scoring his team's first goal of the day. The two teams were tied at 1-1 at the break.

The second half saw the match turn into a bit of a battle in what was a very tense affair. Foot 130 B regained the lead through Yoan Malard who had now scored in both his team's matches. The game reached its conclusion with Foot 130 B still ahead and picking up their first 3 points of the tournament.

Game 4 of Group B saw Bonde Sem Freio turn on the style as they swept aside Dumpling CF in a commanding display. After edging a tight encounter in their opening fixture, the Portuguese side stepped things up several gears with a ruthless attacking performance.

Bonde Sem Freio flew out of the blocks, hitting Dumpling CF with a barrage of goals in the first half. Hudson Januario opened the scoring before Fabricio Simoes and Wheverton Lima added their names to the scoresheet, giving the hosts a comfortable 3-0 advantage at the interval. The English side were left shell-shocked and chasing shadows for much of the half.

There was no let-up after the break. Milton Neto and Alexandre Freitas kept the momentum going before Fabricio Simoes added his second of the game. Jhon Silva rounded off the scoring to make it a comprehensive 7-0 win. It was a statement victory from Bonde Sem Freio, who showed attacking flair, clinical finishing, and real tournament credentials as they surged to the top of Group B.

Bendeeca took us to the half-way stage of Group B as they took on RAF1. Bendeeca are strictly speaking on debut but many of the players on show today have appeared for Mavericks in our events previously.

Mavericks made 4 appearances in eurofootballfives.com competition. It began at the 2015 Algarve Open. They made a blistering start to life in Europe with a 3-0 win over Ireland's Depo Legends and 4-1 over compatriots, Whiteley FC. Their form then tailed off in the group phase finishing 4th out of the 6 teams. They qualified for the Plate winning their QF and SF via penalty shoot-out victories as they reached a debut final. It was a step too far as they lost 3-0 to AFC Shooters A but picked up runners-up medals in the presentation.

The 2016 Barcelona Fives was next. In contrast to the Algarve they got off to a slow start before picking up 4-0 and 3-1 wins over Real SoSoBad (Ire) and Giggs Boson FC (Eng) to give them hopes of qualification in our 32-team event. They then had to withdraw due to injuries and miss out on the knock-out phase. At the 2017 Mallorca Tournament they enjoyed their most successful group phase yet. 3 wins and 1 draw from their 5 group games saw them finish second in Group A behind Lithuania's Lilchicago. They qualified for the Cup for the first time but went out at the Quarter-Final stage, 2-0 to Mallorca Look.

Their previous appearance with us was at the 2019 Algarve Open. It was a tough day in a strong Group D. They lost the opener to Trilution (4-0) before a first point for a 0-0 draw with Bundy's Boys. There was a 4-2 defeat to Parkwood B and 2-0 defeat to The Funky Shepherds. The result meant 5 th place in the table. They progressed to the Trophy competition but exited the tournament 3-0 to Scoregasm.

Bendeeca had opened up here in Lisbon with a solid 1-1 draw against Dumpling CF. They were proving to be a very competitive team as they were level at half-time in this one, 0-0. The game would not finish goalless though. Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that man was Craig Rogers. His goal earned Bendeeca all 3 points as they moved up to second place in the table.
