Located on the River Vistula, the ancient city of Krakow is considered to be the 'Jewel of Poland' and is one of the jewels of Europe. The title of the 'New Prague' does not do Krakow justice as it is a fantastic city in its own right. It is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and is home to the oldest university in Europe which, with over 100,000 students, creates and fires up a superb nightlife.

Krakow is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site and was voted the European City of Culture in 2000. There is plenty to see and do in Krakow from the cultural (Auschwitz, Birkenau, Wieliczka Salt Mines, Wawel Castle) to the adventurous (paintball, rafting, quad biking). Then, at the end of the day, you have a nightlife that springs to life with over 270 pubs, cafes and restaurants in the Old Town which is considered to be amongst the highest density of bars and pubs in the world! Not only this but the beer is good quality, strong and cheap! What more could you ask for?
