John Lewis FC were back in action against Vieze Vu in Round 2. John Lewis FC had suffered a chastening defeat in the opening round. They now had a eurofootballfives.com game under their belts and knew what it was all about. Could they bounce back and kickstart their campaign? It would be a tough ask against the defending champions.

Vieze Vu had begun their title defence with a draw. Having lead 2-0 they will have been disappointed to see two points slip away in the second half. They would be keen to get their first win of the day on the board. What followed here was a very even contest. John Lewis FC were growing into the tournament and found themselves level at half-time, 0-0.

We were to get goals in the second half – two of them. The teams shared the spoils as we finished at 1-1. Only time would tell if this was a point gained or two points dropped. For now, it was a good point for John Lewis FC as they had their first point on the board. Adam Leake was the man to score their first goal in eurofootballfives.com competition. For Vieze Vu, there was a third goal in two games for Melvin Drouijer.

The next game on Pitch 4 was FC Letcom versus Cheesecake FC. These two teams met last year in Game #4 of Group A, today they met in Game #5. These were the top two teams in Group A from the 2017 Amsterdam Sixes. FC Letcom topped the group last year.

When the two teams faced each other last year FC Letcom ran out 3-1 victors. Ameen Ahmed, Ryan Clark and Jonny Wray were on target for the Swiss side last year, Justin Rees scored for Cheesecake FC. All those men were on the field today in two sides that comprised very similar line-ups in terms of personal compared with 2017.

The match this year provided a different result though. A first half strike from Kevin Raphael proved to be the only goal of the game this year. It was Kevin Raphael's third goal of the tournament and Cheesecake FC were top of the table. 2 games, 2 wins, 6 goals scored, 0 conceded.

The final game of Round 2 was Ross Kemp FC versus Lostwithiel FC. Both of these teams had picked up positive results against high quality opposition in Round 1. Lostwithiel FC came from two goals down to grab a draw against the defending champions. Ross Kemp FC had defeated the Group A winners from 2017.

Group A, with just the one exception so far, was looking to be a very tight group. 4 of the games so far had been draws or decided by the odd goal. This one was to be equally tight. Once again we were to have another game decided by just the one goal. We had five goals to savour and it was Ross Kemp FC who emerged victorious 3-2.

The man who proved the match-winner and scorer of Ross Kemp FC's third was Liam Ellison. Other than that it had been a shoot-out between two marksmen. Jamie Shirley had scored twice for Ross Kemp FC. Josh Cook had scored twice for Lostwithiel FC.

It was a vital win for Ross Kemp FC as they kept pace with Cheesecake FC at the top. Lostwithiel FC could consider themselves unlucky just to have 1 point to show for their efforts so far.
