Big
news for us arrived recently that Fabio Capello
and the Football Association have copied eurofootballfives.com
and chosen Hutnik Krakow as their Krakow base.
In
2007, eurofootballfives first ever tournament
was held at Hutnik Krakow with the inaugural Krakow
Trophy. Six Krakow tournaments later and we are
still holding our events at Hutnik Krakow but
by the time the 2012 Krakow Trophy comes around
the complex will have been played on by Rooney,
Lampard, Gerrard, Walcott, Hart and alike. You
too can add your name to the list of players who
have played there by signing up to our 2012 event.

A
brand new destination and a brand new tournament
for 2012 - The Berlin Fives. Often requested by
our clients and always popular with anyone who's
toured there, visited or been on a stag weekend
to this great city. It was only a matter of time
before Berlin joined the eurofootballfives.com
party.
Just
chatting to clients on 2011 tournaments about
the imminent arrival of Berlin has created quite
a buzz and we had a long list of interested parties
who pre-requested tournament information. It's
bound to be a popular event as Berlin promises
to make a glorious debut for us in Germany. We
hope you can join us in the German party capital!

Athletico
Do Hollande were bidding to become only the second
team in history to win three eurofootballfives
tournaments when they met Inter Women in the 2011
Amsterdam Fives final. Inter Women had other ideas
and claimed their maiden title with a superb 4-1
victory.
It
was disappointment for Athletico Do Hollande who
hoped to add an Amsterdam trophy to two Algarve
successes. Inter Women were superb though and
with the tournament top goalscorer (Daniel Powell,
16 goals) plus plenty of goals from elsewhere
they thoroughly deserved their victory.
In
the Plate competition Rigford Seahawks won their
3rd title as they added the 2011 Amsterdam Fives
Plate to the 2009 Krakow Trophy Cup and 2009 Prague
Trophy Plate. They defeated Ireland's Deportivo
Dooradoyle 1-0 in a tight final.

The
2011 Algarve Open was one of our greatest tournaments
to date and saw Athletico Do Hollande create a
little bit of history when they became the first
team in 33 tournaments to retain a eurofootballfives.com
title.
A
number of teams had come close with 3 teams making
the final the year after they'd won a title but
all had lost. Athletico Do Hollande broke the
mould to add the 2011 Algarve Open title to their
2010 triumph. They were made to work very hard
though as Cheesecake FC pushed them all the way
but the Dutch had just enough to win 3-2. There
was double success for Athletico as their striker
Toufik Haddouchi claimed the top goalscorer award
with 9 goals in the tournament.
In
the Plate competition there was success for Eagles
UnAthletic who had also won the 2010 Krakow Trophy
Plate (under the name Eagles Old Boys). In the
Wooden Spoon it was a debut win for Misfits FC.

The
debut Mallorca Tournament proved a hit in 2011
with teams from Ecuador, England and Spain competing
for glory on the beautiful Balearic Island.
With 12 teams coming to do battle we had two groups
of six with some of the most competitive group
football we've had in 31 tournaments to date.
There was some great football and intriguing results
along the way.
In the end the overall prize was won by Policia
Local de Palma who had too much in the tank for
an entertaining Quayaquil 100% side with their
flamboyant South American style.
In the Plate competition it was FC Dukesfield
who emerged victorious via Golden Goal against
Inter Urmum.
The Top Goalscorer prize was claimed by Piero
Zapata of Quayaquil 100% with 10 goals in 7 games.
The tournament was played in a cracking atmosphere
on a glorious day - thank you to everyone who
helped make it such a triumphant debut in Mallorca
for eurofootballfives.com. We'll see you again
in 2012! |

Olympic
Phil Babb see off 20 competitors from 5 nations
for historic tournament victory.
Olympic
Phil Babb arguably came through their toughest
test yetas they defeated 3 Hungarian, 2 English,
1 French and 1 Swedish team on the way to collecting
their 4th title in 4 tournaments.
There
was local success as Hungarian team Al-Kaloida
won the Plate competition and Whiteley VII took
the Wooden Spoon award.
Marci
Markovits took the personal honours with 8 goals
to finish as the day's top goalscorer.

On
a glorious day it was a strong day for the Spanish
teams with all four semi-finalists despite the
presence of 2009 Barca Fives winners Luminy Wolves
of France. They crashed out on penalties in the
Cup Quarter-Finals having looked red hot favourites
for the surprise of the tournament.
It
was Equipo A who added a Cup trophy to the 2009
Barca Fives Plate. Rapid Bosco Navas narrowly
missed out on a second Barcelona trophy after
success in the 2008 Barca Fives.
In
the Plate there was success for Bristol Bridge
and Stamford AC picked up the Wooden Spoon. In
terms of personal awards, Marc Cheucos claimed
the top goalscorer prize with a great tally of
14 goals.

The
2010 Valencia Fives saw the tournament more
than double in size following the event's debut
in 2009. Bigger does not necessarily mean better
but in this case it most certainly does!
On a glorious weekend in Valencia, 24 degrees,
the tournament was played out in sensational
sunshine as the travelling teams could forget
about the cold, dreary weather in the UK. On
the pitch there was success for Futbol City
and Los Halcones in the Cup and Plate competitions
respectively.
Away from the tournament there was plenty of
beach action and nightlife action to be had
with many a sore head on Sunday morning. We
thank you all for attending this amazing tournament
and we look forward to seeing you all back in
action next year.

For
the first time in 8 tournaments in Prague there
was a Czech double as Deportivo claimed victory
in the main Cup competition with JNJ Global Services
taking glory in the Plate competition. When you
add Czech team, DHL Prague Blue's David Asamoah
to the list as tournament Top Goalscorer then
there is a domestic clean sweep of the trophies.
To
leave it at that would be unfair on Arrows who
came so close to winning the main prize and when
they led 2-0 in the final match it looked like
an England vctory until Deportivo fought back
to 2-2 and claim the Cup group and the coveted
2010 Prague Trophy.

| Following
3 succesive years without a home win, Polish teams
made it a double
victory in 2010 as Azmot claimed the 2010 Krakow
Cup title to add to Hutnik's win in the Krakow
Trophy back in May.
FC
Biermeisters broke their eurofootballfives duck
when the FCB Helles squad won a sensational Plate
final to take the trophy and winners medals in
the Plate competition. They trailed 3-0 to Over
Crusaders before embarking on a sensational comeback
that saw them grab an injury time equaliser and
then a Golden Goal to break Over Crusaders hearts.

From
the 20 starting teams it was two-times winners
Olympic Phil Babb taking on two-times winners
Lozenetz City in the final of the 2010 Prague
Masters. The two teams met in the final and it
was Olympic Phil Babb who took the honour of being
the first team to win three eurofootballfives.com
tournaments - a great achievement!
There
was also success for the New Camps and Dot Cotton's
Flaps in the Plate and Wooden Spoon competitions
respectively. Personal honours went to Mark Hignett
of Cheesecake FC as he claimed the top goalscorer
award with a great haul of 11 goals in 6 games.

On
the eve of Holland's appearance in the World
Cup Final 12 teams battled it out for glory
on a gloriously sunny day in Amsterdam. Goldsmith
Williams reached their 4th final and claimed
their 2nd title when they gained revenge for
the 2009 Prague Masters final with victory over
their arch rivals Lozenetz City of Bulgaria.
In
the Plate Final Dark Horses beat CUGO of Scotland
in a reversal of fortune after they met in the
Group stage. There was further honours for Dark
Horses captain Richard Walker as he claimed
the tournament's top goalscorer award.
It
was a fantastic day of tournament action and
everyone had a great day out in the Amsterdam
sun.....not to mention many a good night out
in Amsterdam's famous nightlife over the weekend!

eurofootballfives.com history to win two tournaments
when they claimed the 2010 Manchester Fives title
defeating debutants Basford United in the final.
In
the Plate competition Atlantic Star picked up
silverware in their 4th eurofootballfives.com
tournament after getting closer and closer in
European competition.
James
Needham of Basford United claimed the top goalscorer

Magic
Monkeys became the first English winners of a
eurofootballfives.com tournament in Barcelona
when they overcame 2008 Barca Fives winners Rapid
Bosco Navas (Spain) and 2009 Barcelona Fives winners,
Anglo Knights (Spain) en route to glory. They
follow hot on the heels of Luminy Wolves (France)
in the 2009 Barca Fives making it two tournaments
in a row where home teams have been unable to
capture the title.
The
Plate title went to another English team Warranty
Direct to complete an awesome double. Both teams
beat Spanish opposition in their respective finals.
David
Payne made it a treble when he lifted the top
goalscorer prize with 8 goals in 7 games beating
2 Spanish strikers and 1 other Englishman, Russell
Chopping, who all finished on 6 goals for the

The
2010 Algarve Open proved so poular that we had
to increase capacity to 20 teams for the second
year in a row and we still sold out months before
the tournament kicked off.
On
the pitch we saw a great day's action that led
to 4 teams from 4 different nations contesting
the Cup Semi-Finals and out of those 4 it was
Athletico Do Hollande who became the first Dutch
team to lift a trophy in eurofootballfives.com
competition.

At
the 4th time of asking a Polish team finally won
the Krakow Trophy after 3 years of falling to
overseas opposition. Local team Hutnik proved
the winners after a day of competitive action.
The tournament was notable as the first indoor
eurofootballfives.com tournament due to the freakish
weather in Krakow and flooding of our normal pitches
just 24 hours before the tournament kicked off.
The
eurofootballfives.com team went to work and managed
to find an alternative venue at short notice and
stage the event. A great day was had by all and
we look forward to returning to our normal outdoor
venue barring any blizzards or tornadoes of course.
Even then, I'm sure we'll find a way round it!
