Group B began with 3 Lions (Eng) taking on CIS Committee (Blr). It is appearance number 5 for Chris Baginsky's 3 Lions FC. 3 Lions made their debut in the 2008 Barca Fives coming very close to going home with a trophy when they finished runners-up in the Plate competition. They were on fire in the knock-out stage with a 4-1 win over the CSF in the quarter-finals and a 6-1 win over the 2008 Prague Masters Plate winners, Prisoners, in the semi-finals. They then fell at the last hurdle against Czech team DHL Prague 3-1 in the final. They returned to action in the 2009 Amsterdam Fives where they were outstanding in the group phase winning 10 points out of 12 to take Group A (only a 1-1 draw with the CSF prevented a 100% record) before a surprise Cup quarter-final exit. Their last appearance was at the 2011 Mallorca Tournament where they finished 3rd in their 6-team group. They went on to the Plate Semi-Finals where they lost narrowly (2-1) to eventual winners FC Dukesfield. Their last appearance was at the 2014 Berlin Fives where 3 wins out of 4 in the group stage saw them qualify for the Cup before they succumbed to the eventual champions, Hasanheide Hotspur, in the Quarter-Finals.

CIS Committee (Blr) are the defending champions here in Budapest Fives and they took no time in showing us why they were worthy winners 12 months ago. Sergey Polyakov put them 1-0 ahead and they never looked back with Anton Galay and Aliaksandr Lisouski stretching the lead to 3-0 at half-time. Anton Galay added two more after the break to complete his hat-trick and round off a convincing 5-0 victory.

In the next game we had two teams making their eurofootballfives.com debut with Peckham Legends taking on Le Saux Solid Crew. With no prior record in our tournaments both teams had a blank canvas in which to portray their footballing artistry.

From the opening dabbles it looked like defences were on top and after the opening period of play the two teams went into half-time level at 0-0. After the break it was more of the same with the defences thwarting everything their opponents could throw at them from an offensive point of view. Goalkeepers' Chris Doyle of Le Saux Solid Crew and Glauco Bittencourt of Peckham Legends both recorded clean sheets as the teams opened up with a solid point.

Bittencourt was making not only his eurofootballfives.com debut but his Peckham Legends debut and the Brazilian goalkeeper had proved an astute loan signing – lovely jubbly.

Budapest Celtic Tigers were the last taxi off the rank in Group B as they began their campaign against the 3 Lions.

Budapest Celtic entered the eurofootballfives.com fold in 2011 and were making their 9th appearance in our tournaments. The Tigers squad in particular had put in impressive performances on home soil. In 2011 they lost on penalties in the Cup Final to Olympic Phil Babb and it was second place again in 2012 as they missed on the ultimate prize to Romania's ABC United. More recently the Tigers went all the way to the 2014 Valencia Fives Plate Final where they were Runners-Up to Ireland's Saipan FC.

The 3 Lions FC were looking to bounce back after opening game defeat and following a 5-0 loss steadied the ship somewhat as the fought out a 0-0 opening period. With three successive halves on Pitch B ending goalless we were desperate for goals and thankfully they arrived in the second half….although 3 Lions FC may well disagree with that.

Andris Szabo broke the deadlock to put Budapest Celtic Tigers 1-0 up and it was Szabo again who doubled the lead. It was therefore a 2-0 opening win for the home team.

Peckham Legends earned a good opening point in their first game and their ‘reward' was a game against CIS Committee of Belarus.

CIS Committee (Blr) had made the journey to Budapest again to defend the title they won last year. If they succeeded in this task, they would become only the second team to retain a eurofootballfives.com title after Athletico Do Hollande won the Algarve Open in 2010 and 2011.

Their eurofootballfives.com journey began in 2011 when they became the first team from Belarus to compete in our tournaments. They showed sensational form in the group phase winning their first four games before finishing with a draw as they won Group B. They were then surprisingly defeated in the Cup Quarter Finals via Golden Goal 2-1 to Dark Horses. They returned to action in 2014 when they competed in both the Budapest Fives and Bratislava Fives. They were unbeaten in both as they won both titles.

They had already begun well with a 5-0 win in their opening game and were on the winning trail again as Aliaksandr Chaikouski put them 1-0 up. It was a spirited performance from Peckham Legends and at half-time it remained 1-0 to the Belarussians. After the break Anton Galay made it 2-0 and the team from Belarus moved through the gears as the Peckham Legends ran out of steam. A second from Chaikouski and a double from Sergey Polyakov meant the final score was 5-0.

Le Saux Solid Crew started off Group B with a 0-0 draw versus Peckham Legends. Budapest Celtic Tigers opened their tournament with a 2-0 win over 3 Lions FC. Le Saux Solid Crew and Budapest Celtic Tigers would now come face to face as Group B reached the half-way stage.

With both defences keeping clean sheets in their opening games you felt goals could well be at a premium so Joe Dunnage's strike for Le Saux Solid Crew promised to be priceless. It was a goal that gave his team the lead at half-time.

In the second half Jono Hartwell doubled the lead and Le Saux Solid Crew began to turn on the style. Oliver Dolton made it 3-0 before Dave jones made it 4-0 and the points were wrapped up.

It was a great win for the English team that saw them sat nicely in second position – still unbeaten and still to concede a goal.
