Round 3 started with the biggest game of the group as the top two came face-to-face. It was East Compton Seagulls versus Rigford Seahawks. Both teams had two wins out of two and both were yet to concede today. Something would have to give but who would emerge victorious?

The early advantage went to the Seagulls when Rob Graham gave his team an important lead which they held until half-time. Rigford Seahawks had it all to do and they showed just why they have been victorious in 3 previous tournaments as they equalized through Wayne Hayes.

The comeback and turnaround was complete when Dan Brayson made it 2-1. East Compton Seagulls were unable to recover and Rigford Seahawks opened up a 3 point lead at the top of the group. The Seagulls had shown plenty of quality and shown that they had enough to still make Cup qualification despite this setback.

The next scheduled fixture was Hertha Beerlin versus Hasanheide Donkeys. Both teams had suffered heavy defeats last time out and this was the perfect opportunity to hit back and claim a first win of the day.

Hertha Beerlin made the early running as Gabs Rodriguez Cleary struck the opening blow. They led for long periods of the game but late on the Donkeys' Adam Willis claimed an equalizer for 1-1 and earned a point for his team. It was the first point of the day for Hasanheide Donkeys who lifted themselves off the bottom.

For Hertha Beerlin it was a second draw in 3 games and although they'd only lost one game they were in 4th place and in need of turning draws into wins to ramp up their points tally.

With East Compton Seagulls defeat to Rigford Seahawks, Shrewsbury Townsend had a chance to take full advantage and move into second if they could defeat Sturm Holzwurm. The Germans had yet to pick-up a point but had suffered narrow 1-0 defeats to the top two so would be no pushovers.

Maybe those two narrow defeats had knocked the confidence of Sturm Holzwurm or maybe it was just a sensational performance by Shrewsbury Townsend but this was a comprehensive win for the English team. It started with Andy Greenway making it 1-0 before Matty Horne doubled the lead and Greenway added another to make it 3-0 at half-time. In the second period Richard Deeming made it 4-0 and to round off a fine victory Andy Greenway completed a hat-trick.

Shrewsbury Townsend were in second place and yet to concede a goal. Having scored 10 in 2 games they were a team to watch in Group C.
