Round 4 saw The Average Joes have some time to enjoy the sunshine, the hospitality of the bar and watch other teams exert themselves on the pitch as they collected their 3-0 walkover win against Valecuatro. We would see The Average Joes back in action in Round 5.

 
 
 

Relentless were up next and were up against Big Wille's in what promised to be an intriguing game. Big Wille's lead the way in Group A but it was only a narrow lead – 3 points. There were 3 teams chasing them down and Relentless FC were one of those three teams.

Relentless FC came into the game on the back of a morale-killing 6-1 defeat but they showed great ability to bounce back in this fixture. It was Relentless FC who struck the first blow with Phoenix Ward putting his side 1-0 up. Relentless FC were sharing the goals around this morning.

The goal was good enough to see them kick-off the second half 1-0 up but Big Wille's showed why they were leading the table in the second half as they came back right into it. It was a cracking game and when the referee blew for full-time we were level at 2-2. Callum Pugh had scored his second in as many games for Relentless FC.

It was a result that maintained Big Wille's lead at the top of Group A for now. Relentless FC were still in touching distance just 3 points behind. Relentless FC were currently in 2nd position but that could well change with the Bede FC v Los Pibes game due on Pitch A next.

 
 
 

So, as promised we had Bede FC versus Los Pibes next in action in Group A. Bede FC were enjoying their most successful group phase ever in our tournaments with 6 points out of 9 so far – more points than they'd secured before and they still had 2 games to go. They had also just recorded their biggest win ever in our tournaments. Our drugs testers were standing by but first they had to face Los Pibes.

Pibes FC lost their first game but had 6 points from their last 6 so this was two in form teams coming face to face. The prize for the victor was second place in the table. A draw would mean a three team tie on 7 points (with Relentless FC) but a loss would leave them in fourth position. This was a must not lose rather than a must win game.

It was Los Pibes who wrestled the early initiative from their opponents. They forged ahead 2-0 in the opening period. After the break the Spanish team moved through the gears and Bede FC were unable to stay with them. There was a hat-trick for Mattas Damian De Ilano and a goal each for Christian Lambert and Rodrigo Palacio.

Los Pibes moved into second place and since their opening 2-0 defeat had scored 16 goals without reply. The result was a damaging one for Bede FC's Cup hopes but they would, at worst, be assured of a place in the Plate.
