Group D was really hotting up as we entered Round 4 and it was a big game for Saipan FC. Defeat to Galacticos meant they had just slipped off the pace a little in the quest for Cup qualification. They were three points behind Galacticos and Indoorsoccer PSP but a win here would help them bridge the gap – especially with those two teams due to meet each other next.

Trinacria A found themselves at the foot of the table and looked destined for the Trophy. However, a win would change all that and put them in contention for the Plate.

Saipan FC started in determined fashion and Hector Navarro Real put them 1-0 up. He added a second to put his team in control at half-time. In the second period he wrapped up his hat-trick and the points were only going one way. It was then 4-0 with what can only be described as a captain's goal from Barry Lysaght before Max Halley found the net to complete a comprehensive 5-0 victory.

Saipan FC were now 1 of 3 teams level on 9 points at the top (temporarily at least). Trinacria A remained in 6th position.

This was Galacticos' second appearance in Portugal with us. Their first was at the 2013 Algarve Open which saw them record 4 wins out of 5 to win Group B on 12 points. They drew their Quarter-Final, 0-0, against Portuguese side Sergio Cristina but missed out on the next phase 3-2 on penalties. This will be their third match against Portuguese opposition as they defeated Water Boy (2-0) in the group phase in the Algarve.

So far today they had 3 wins out of 3 and if they could remain unbeaten they would stay top of Group D. They had scored 10 goals without reply but this was arguably their biggest test of the morning as their opponents, Indoorsoccer PSP, also had a 100% record.

It was the perfect opening to the game for Galacticos as they went 2-0 up at half-time thanks to a double from Hamza Patel. Indoorsoccer PSP hit back after the change of ends with Bruno Sousa scoring his fourth of the tournament and Joao Perestrelo grabbing his second to equalise and earn his team a point.

That left us with the final two teams yet to play their fourth fixture – FC Broxelona B and Lanky Londoners. Lanky Londoners came into the game on a high having just secured their first 3 points of the day. Another win would confirm their place in the Plate, consolidate fourth and give them a shot at third. Due to the draw in the previous fixture, Cup qualification was now beyond them.

FC Broxelona B were looking for a first win of their own having struggled in what was a very tough group. They had 3 defeats so far but a win would put them level on 3 points with their opponents and give them a chance of qualifying for the Plate.

It was good news for followers of FC Broxelona B as it was they who took the lead – George Nicolaou becoming top scorer for his team with his second of the competition. They reached half-time at 1-0, so far so good. Lanky Londoners did all they could to get on level terms but the FC Broxelona B defence held firm. Luke Hoban in goal for Broxelona kept a clean sheet and almost scored after a mazy run from his own penalty area. All in all, a good result for FC Broxelona B as they had put their first points on the board. They remained in fifth on goal difference but had a game against the group's bottom team to come.
