Group C was really hotting up as we entered Round 4. Match 10 of the group was PSV Hangover against Trinacria A as Poland met Belgium. PSV Hangover had a three point lead at the top of the table coming into this game and another win would almost (not quite) guarantee qualification and heap pressure onto their rivals.

Trinacria A came into the match on the back of their first win and their first clean sheet. They were powerless though to stop another PSV Hangover masterclass. The Polish team raced into a 3-0 lead as Karol Narojczyk kept up his record of scoring in every game with two more here. Marcin Minczynski also added to his tournament tally.

The second half proved more even as the teams shared the spoils – a Tomasz Rabiega goal for PSV Hangover and a Francesco Urso goal for Trinacra A. The damage was all done in the first half.

PSV Hangover marched on with 4 wins from 4 games.

Indoorsoccer had just climbed to third position with an impressive win over BSP FC. The only team they had lost to was PSV Hangover so they were well placed. Could they build on that Round 3 victory with a win over Tysers?

Tysers can count themselves unlucky to take nothing from their opening two games – good performances against high quality opposition. They did look visibly frustrated after the loss to Trinacria A though. They had to put that behind them and get ready for another really tough game. In our eyes, this was the Group of Death and there was no respite.

The star of the show in this game was Joao Mendes. He hit a first half hat-trick that took the game away from Tysers. There was no further score in the second period as Indoorsoccer moved onto 9 points and occupy the second Cup qualification position.

Tysers remained in 6th place.

Game 12 of Group C was a massive one! BSP FC versus Pangare Futebol Clube. 2017 Amsterdam Fives winners versus 2017 Lisbon Tournament winners. Before the day began we expected these two teams to qualify from Group C. However, at kick-off these teams were in third and fourth. Admittedly they had a game in hand – this was it and it would not be easy.

BSP FC could go joint second with victory and have their fate in their own hands going into the final round of games. Pangare Futebol Clube had to win this and their final fixture and hope Indoorsoccer and BSP FC lost their final games to have any hope of going through – this was last chance saloon in their title defence.

We reached half-time with all still to play for. The teams were locked together at 0-0 but the big news was that BSP FC lost Alex Richardson to injury. He scored 22 in Amsterdam, and whilst BSP FC still had plenty of goals in the team from Sandhu and McLellan for example, the loss of a 22 goal player was always going to be tough. They also lost their sub and their ability to rotate.

Pangare Futebol Clube took full advantage and won the game 2-1. William Junior and Filipe Soares de Alencar goals outgunned Matt Churchil's second half strike. Was the title defence still on?
