Bear Ballerz (Fra)

The first final of the day would see Los Malakas Hermanos versus Bear Ballerz. These two teams would need to summon one last burst of energy to ensure they would be picking up winners and not runners-up medals in the presentation.

Let's look at the two teams records:

Los Malakas Hermanos (Pol)

Best appearances to date: Debut

Record today: Played 5, Won 2, Drawn 2, Lost 1.

Goal difference today: 6-5 (+1)

Current unbeaten run: 4 games.

Today's top goalscorer: Guillermo Buonomo (5)

Clean sheets: 2

Bear Ballerz (Fra)

Best appearance to date: 2024 Porto Tournament Plate winners

Record today: Played 5, Won 2, Drawn 1, Lost 2.

Goal difference today: 8-4 (+4)

Current unbeaten run: 1 game.

Today's top goalscorer: Thomas Ricaux (5)

Clean sheets: 2

These two teams had met before earlier in the day. On that occasion the two teams played out a 1-1 draw. With that match so close, team stats very close across the day's performance this looked like a pretty tough match to call.

When the game began, it was Bear Ballerz who seized the initiative. Their star forward Thomas Ricaux struck first, continuing his outstanding tournament and putting his side 1-0 ahead. Los Malakas Hermanos, who had shown resilience throughout the day, worked hard to respond but found themselves pegged back by an organised and confident French team. The pressure told again when Jack Keen doubled the lead, giving Bear Ballerz a cushion before half-time.

After the restart, Bear Ballerz pressed home their advantage. Jack Keen added his second of the game to make it 3-0 before Connor Meckin put the result beyond doubt with a fourth. The French side's defence, led by Alessandro Cirmino in goal, ensured there was no way back for Los Malakas Hermanos. At the final whistle, Bear Ballerz had run out 4-0 winners in one of the most commanding displays of the day, securing their second ever Plate title in style.

For Los Malakas Hermanos, it was a disappointing end to what had been a memorable debut. They had impressed with their organisation, spirit and attacking play, particularly through Guillermo Buonomo's goals, and can reflect on a superb first appearance in our tournaments. Reaching the final and pushing experienced opposition along the way is an achievement to be proud of, and they will surely return stronger in future years.

One of the subplots of the day was settled by Ricaux's opening strike. His sixth goal of the tournament not only set his team on the way to victory but also secured him the top scorer award outright. He edged out Guillermo Buonomo of Los Malakas Hermanos, as well as Martin Nijboer and Marouane Zaiz of Krakow Lions, all of whom finished on five goals. Many congratulations to Thomas Ricaux.

For Bear Ballerz, this was a triumph to savour. Having previously lifted the Plate at the 2024 Porto Tournament, they demonstrated once again their pedigree in knockout football by claiming a second Plate crown in Krakow. From a strong group-stage start, through a tough mid-tournament dip, and finally to emphatic wins in both the Semi-Final and Final, they showed resilience and class. Congratulations to Bear Ballerz – twice Plate winners and worthy champions in Poland.
