The competition was heating up as teams battled for a spot in the knockout stages of the tournament. Round 3 of the Krakow Trophy kicked off with an extraordinary match that left those watching in awe and disbelief. Colonel Getafe from England faced off against Krwiodawcow Cracovii from Poland and the outcome was nothing short of remarkable as the visitors showed no mercy to their hosts.

From the very start, Colonel Getafe demonstrated their intent to maintain their unbeaten record. They unleashed an incredible offensive display, hitting their opponents for six goals in the first half alone. It was sheer dominance displayed by the English side.

Ben Watson was the star of the show for Colonel Getafe, netting an astonishing four goals. Cameron Saycell was equally relentless, scoring a remarkable hat-trick, while Oli Grossman added two more to the tally. Even the goalkeeper, Alex Staggs, seized the opportunity to stretch his legs on the pitch and contributed a goal of his own.

Colonel Getafe didn't let up in the second half, as they continued to press forward and add to their lead. They reached a staggering 10-0 lead before Krwiodawcow Cracovii managed to find a consolation goal, with Pawel Kosmacz finding the back of the net.

This astounding victory, unsurprisingly the biggest win of the day, sent Colonel Getafe to the top of the Group A table, maintaining their perfect record in the process.

TaHu (Fin) appeared in our tournaments for the first time at the 2019 Gdansk Tournament. They were the first team to represent Finland in our events. It took a little while for them to find their feet opening up with two 4-1 defeats before a 3-0 win. They followed this up with a 2-2 and a 0-0 draw. Their final game would be against a strong Alea Iacta Est team and they lost 5-1. It meant 5th place in their 7-team group. They qualified for the Plate Quarter-Finals and drew 1-1 against DDCH but went out 3-1 on penalties.

It had been a tough start here in Krakow with two defeats on the bounce but they had three games remaining to put that right. TaHu, still in search of their first goals and points of the tournament, approached the game with determination, while Moles Salah aimed to get back to winning ways.

Moles Salah wasted no time in their pursuit of victory. In the first half, they managed to secure a 2-0 lead, leaving TaHu with an uphill battle. Jack Barr and Henry Myers continued their impressive form, each scoring their third goal of the tournament. As the match progressed, TaHu made valiant efforts to get back into contention, but the resolute defence of Moles Salah denied them any clear-cut opportunities. The final whistle blew with a scoreline of 2-0 in favor of Moles Salah, who secured their second victory of the tournament and allowed them to maintain third place in the table.

Next up was our 2012 Krakow Trophy winners (Skidmarks) versus 2022 Krakow Veterans Tournament winners (Alea Iacta Est). These were two teams who had always competed well in our tournaments. Skidmarks had three titles to their name, three runners-up finishes and a Trophy win under their belts. Alea Iacta Est had a Cup QF and Cup SF finish (both losing to the eventual champions) and then a runners-up appearance before claiming a Plate victory and then a Cup victory last year. The two teams had contrasting experiences today with Skidmarks taking a maximum 6 points whilst Alea Iacta Est only had 1 from 6 so far.

The first half of the game proved to be a tightly contested affair, with both teams giving their all on the pitch. Despite Skidmarks' previous goal-scoring exploits with 4 goals in each game, they couldn't break through Alea Iacta Est's defence, and the match remained goalless at halftime.

As the second half commenced, the tension in the game grew. Skidmarks continued to search for a breakthrough, while Alea Iacta Est defended resolutely, determined to earn a valuable point. In the end, it was Skidmarks who found the elusive goal they were looking for. Ashley Britten was the hero of the moment, scoring the decisive goal that gave his team a 1-0 victory.

With this hard-fought victory, Skidmarks maintained their 100% winning streak but discovered that they had slipped to second place in the group table due to Colonel Getafe's impressive win on Pitch A.
