We were down to our final 4 teams in the Plate competition with 2 out of the 4 teams representing England, 1 representing Spain and the other team representing the Netherlands. It was due to be England versus England in the first Plate Semi-Final.

We think Wealdstone Raiders surprised themselves with how well they had done in the early stages of the tournament. Before the tournament they had booked to go on a boat party as they didn't think they'd be still involved at this stage. Maybe it was the boat party was just too appealing, maybe Pique Blinders were just too scary a prospect. Either way, Wealdstone Raiders had left the arena and were unable to fulfil the fixture.

Whatever the reason, Pique Blinders had a European final to prepare for.

The second Semi-Final was AC Motxo International versus Elbersiktas. AC Motxo International got back to winning ways in the Quarter-Finals and now had 2 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats from their 8 games so far. Two more wins and they would be taking home the winner's trophy and medals.

Elbersiktas had 3 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats from their games. It was Holland versus Spain for the third time today. Elbersiktas won 2-0 when these two teams met in the group phase. AC Motxo International then got revenge by beating Real De Groot 2-0 in the Plate Quarter-Finals. This was the decider in the trilogy.

In normal time, the two teams played out a 0-0 draw. It would therefore be a penalty shoot-out to decide who would get the final berth in the Plate Final.

After the first two penalties it was still 0-0. Neither Juan Carlos Canizares Ortega or Chris Riphagen could find the net. We finally had goals in the second round of penalties – Dario Gomez Zabala and Casper Brouwer both found the net. The teams were goal shy again in the final round with Ruben Torres Meijas and Max Van Doeveren failing to score.

1-1 became 2-2 as the teams matched each other stride for stride. Alberto Rubio Sanchez and Remy Maduro both on target. The fifth round of penalties was decisive – Luis Ricardo Denche Pulido scored his, Steven Hekman missed.

It meant Elbersiktas were out but AC Motxo International were still alive in this tournament. They were through 3-2 on penalties.
