Back on the field of play we had Polonia Limerick versus Urbansport. These were currently our top two teams. With Ecuador 100% lurking in third position, this game could well be important in determining which side would qualify for the Plate.

Both teams were yet to concede a goal in the tournament and both teams had a 0-0 draw against World Pinteur to date. It was therefore going to be difficult to pick a winner but we expected the game to be a close one.

Polonia Limerick were outstanding against Ecuador 100% and if they could pull off another win here they would certainly be worthy of winning the Group B title which would surely follow. It was the Poland team who went ahead through Kuba Domanski and with their defensive record it could be a crucial goal.

We were not expecting a goal-fest but that's what we got. Thiago scored his fifth goal of the day as he equalised for Urbansport but Polonia Limerick were back in front through Dominik Olczak. The second half kicked off with Polonia Limerick still 2-1 up. Urbansport drew level though for a second time as Esteban found the back of the net. The Spanish team then moved ahead for the first time in the game as Dani scored for the second game running. It proved to be the winning goal as Urbansport opened up a 3 point lead at the top.

The next match in Group B was due to be World Pinteur versus Relentless FC so we chalked up the 3-0 win for the French team and quickly moved on to Ecuador 100% versus Urbansport.

This promised to be a fantastic game. We had an Ecuador 100% team who were under pressure. They were currently in fourth place but with games in hand and they really needed to win their final two group games. They had warmed up well with their curtailed game against Relentless FC but were facing a team who had 7 points from a potential 9 so far.

Ecuador 100% came out the starting blocks fast with Mateo Paz and Jose Mosquera establishing a 2-0 lead. They were pegged back to 2-1 with a goal from Thiago as Urbansport showed that this would not be one way traffic. Mateo Paz did restore the two goal lead before half-time to put Ecuador 100% in pole position. After the break Jose Mosquera made it 4-1 and Mateo Paz completed his hat-trick for 5-1. Thiago pulled another goal to make it 5-2 but Mateo Paz kept scoring to make it 6-2. Thiago went on to complete his hat-trick but he could not prevent his team going down, 6-3.

The win saw Ecuador 100% move up to second place and just a point behind their opponents with a game in hand.

We chalked up Polonia Limerick's 3-0 win over Relentless FC which put Polonia Limerick and Urbansport level at the top on 7 points with Polonia Limerick on top on goal difference largely due to their relative results against Ecuador 100%. Ecuador 100% were on 6 points and World Pinteur on 5 points each with a game in hand. That game in hand was now to be played with France v Ecuador on Pitch D.

The permutations were as follows:

Ecuador 100% win: They would win the group on 9 points with Polonia Limerick joining them in the Cup. Urbansport and World Pinteur would qualify for the Plate.

A draw: Ecuador 100%, Polonia Limerick and Urbansport would all finish on 7 points and the top 3 would be separated by goal difference. Ecuador 100% (+5) and Polonia Limerick (+3) would qualify for the Cup. Urbansport and World Pinteur would qualify for the Plate.

World Pinteur win: World Pinteur would win the group on 8 points with Polonia Limerick joining them in the Cup. Urbansport and Ecuador 100% would qualify for the Plate.

The game began with Mateo Paz scoring his 6th goal of the tournament and when they had scored early they had run away with games so far today. World Pinteur were fantastic in this first half though and levelled through Kevin Payet. You can't keep Ecuador 100% down for long as Jon Valencia and Mateo Paz scored again for 3-1. The French team however reduced the lead to 3-2 as Eric Lemoisson scored.

At half-time World Pinteur were very much in this game. The opening goal of the second half went to Ecuador 100% and Jose Mosquera. Two further goals from Andres Dorado extinguished any hopes of a comeback. Ecuador 100% had surged to Group B glory despite that opening defeat. The march for a third successive title was still on.
