Group B began with two teams experienced in eurofootballfives.com action as FC Miracle took on East Compton Eagles. FC Miracle represent Hungary in the tournament having made their nation proud at the 2011 Barca Fives in November. They made a fine debut in a difficult group finishing level on points with France's Luminy Wolves (2009 champions). They went on to make the final where they led 1-0 for a period but ultimately missed out 2-1 to a strong Midshires FC team. In the 2012 Algarve Open they were equally as strong winning Group C and winning 5 successive games before losing in the Cup Semi-Finals 1-0 to CFC A of France. It was third time lucky for FC Miracle at the 2012 Valencia Fives when they powered their way to a first eurofootballfives.com victory.

East Compton Eagles tasted eurofootballfives.com action when they made their debut last year in our inaugural Berlin Fives tournament. They had two sides “Eagles” and “Seagulls”. The Eagles finished joint top (and level with the eventual Runners-Up) of their group and made the Cup Semi-Finals where they went out to the eventual winners, Rigford Seahawks.

In Mallorca the two squads looked fairly evenly matched and they played out a close first half with just the one goal in it. East Compton Eagles held the advantage at half-time 2-1 thanks to Richard Manns and Sean McCullough goals. McCullough netted again after the break as did Julian Russell for a 4-1 win. Laszlo Zsolt with the goal for FC Miracle.

It was a sensational result and start to the tournament for East Compton Eagles against the current Valencia Fives Champions.

Match 2 saw Coverton Road take on Sportsman Arenal as England met Spain. Coverton Road made their debut in the 2011 Valencia Fives finishing fourth in the group and qualifying for the Plate competition. They secured a great 4-1 win over County (Re)United in the Quarter-Finals before leaving us at the Semi-Final stage at the hands of Bridge House.

Sportsman Arenal have previously played in our Mallorca Tournament and in 2012 had a particularly successful campaign. They had a 100% record with 5 wins out of 5 to win a group with two previous eurofootballfives.com winners. The unbeaten record went on to 6 games with a Cup Quarter-Final win before unlucky fixture 7 saw them crash out at the hands of Di Stefano Peluguira.

There were two good teams on show and two good defences were dominant as the match finished 0-0 with the points shared. A solid start for both teams.

Next up was S.I.T.S (Shortest In The Shower) versus Team Extreme. S.I.T.S are the sister squad of L.I.T.S and, like them, made their debut in the 2011 Valencia Fives where they qualified for the Cup competition but went out to eventual Cup winners Skidmarks (who as we've seen are also competing in Mallorca).

Team Extreme are another team to have played in Valencia and now have a crack at Mallorca. They played in the 2012 Valencia tournament where they finished 2 nd in their 6-team group behind Oman's CBD Boys to earn the right to play Grant Thornton in the Quarter-Finals and as we've seen above this is when they went out – can they get revenge this time should they meet? The group draw has kept them apart.

This game looked like going the same way as the previous one as we were still all square at 0-0 well into the second half. We were to witness a goal though as a Chika Kalu strike earned Team Extreme all three points and a morale-boosting victory. It was a bitter pill for S.I.T.S.
