Going into the final round of games it was do or die now for these six teams. First up was Los Langeros versus The El Dude Brothers.

Los Langeros found themselves somewhat unfortunately in fifth position and they knew that defeat would consign them to the Trophy competition. A regulation draw could see them into the Plate if Shrewsbury Townsend lost by 3 goals or more. A high-scoring draw combined with a 3 goal loss for Shrewsbury Townsend could potentially see them jump into 4 h on goals scored. A win would definitely mean a place in the Plate.

For The El Dude Brothers they could reach the Cup competition with a win as long as Budapest Celtic Lions lost. A draw would be enough to secure a place in the Plate. A defeat combined with Shrewsbury Townsend avoiding defeat would see them slip back to 5th position and into the Trophy.

There really was a lot riding on this game and at half-time the teams turned around level at 0-0. The result wasn't particularly great for either and so there was a great effort to pull off victory from both teams. The game was primed for someone to become a hero and Sush Nair stepped up. He scored a second half brace to claim a 2-0 victory for The El Dude Brothers. They would eagerly watch the Budapest Celtic Lions game to see if they had done enough for Cup football.

Los Langeros now knew they would finish in fifth positon and could consider themselves a little unlucky to finish on four points as their performances arguably merited more.

So, just two more games to go in Group B and the penultimate fixture was Slovakia against Lads on Tour. This was top versus bottom and if you were a betting man you could be forgiven for putting your bank on a home victory. Be warned though, we've often seen teams at the bottom of a group shock those at the top.

Slovakia were already guaranteed a place in the Cup competition but a win here would ensure they qualify as Group B winners and, in theory, ensure an easier Cup Quarter-Final tie. The game went with the form book in the early stages as Tomas Macai and Adam Kovac helped open up a 2-0 lead at half-time. From there the result was never in doubt as Macai completed a hat-trick and Kovac added his second in the game for a 5-0 win.

The game featured a magic moment when the result was already decided. Slovakia were looking like scoring again when a Lads on Tour defender handled on the line to save a certain goal and pretended to be injured after the ball had “hit” him in the chest. It was all done with a laugh and no pretence of “fooling” the referee. Players (from both teams) and spectators alike laughed at the incident. The referee also laughed and didn't have the heart to send the defender off as he awarded the penalty (a common sense decision). Slovakia took it all in good heart as they responded with a cheeky back-heel penalty (that went wide). It was all good fun and that's the way these tournaments should be.

Congratulations to Slovakia who were crowned Group B champions. Lads on Tour would progress to the Trophy competition.

The final game of Group B was Shrewsbury Townsend versus Budapest Celtic Lions. From the joviality of the previous game we had a serious game on our hands here with much at stake for the Hungarian team. Following The El Dude Brother's win, Shrewsbury Townsend could no longer reach the Cup and they would finish in fourth position no matter what.

For Budapest Celtic Lions, they had to avoid defeat to qualify for the Cup. A win or a draw would see them finish in second position. They were currently level on points with The El Dude Brothers but a defeat here would see them slip to third position on goal difference and see them go into the Plate with The El Dude Brothers going into the Cup at their expense.

Budapest Celtic Lions got off to the worst possible start as Matt Horne scored in the opening period much to the delight of not only his team-mates but also to the watching El Dude Brothers. It was a lead that Shrewsbury Townsend were to preserve.

Into the second half and Budapest Celtic Lions had to score but the Shrewsbury Townsend defence was resolute. The game remained 1-0 and was on a knife edge until the final whistle. In the end the sands of time ran out for the Lions. Shrewsbury Townsend picked up a fine win and had done The El Dude Brothers a massive favour into the bargain.
