Group B continued with Dick Farts FC versus We Pay People. The two teams currently resided in fourth and fifth position so were in real need of the points to surge up the table with just one more group game to come after this one.

You could argue that the fixture list had thrown up the two most difficult fixtures first for Dick Farts FC against Spider Mans (a team that had 2 x group wins, 1 Cup Final & 2 x Cup Semi-Final appearances) and the current league leaders. Could they pick up all 3 points against a team who had lost both their games?

We Pay People would argue they had not picked up the points they deserved with a 0-1 and 2-3 loss to English opposition. Could they turn it around? As was the case in those two previous games they found themselves level at the break. This time it was 1-1 as an Alex Orton goal (Dick Farts FC) and an Ahmed goal (We Pay People) meant we had all to play for in the second half.

After the break it was We Pay People who raised their game and left Dick Farts FC trailing. The English team got on the scoresheet again through Dan York but his goal flowed against the tide as Ahmed went on to complete a hat-trick and Ismael almost scored to secure a 4-2 win for We Pay People.

The result moved We Pay People up the table into 3 rd position and put them right back in the mix. For Dick Farts FC they had slipped from 4th to 5th with a game to go.

Spider Mans Ressies entered the arena of Pitch B next as they would play host to the Rain Dragons. The team with the Batman logo emblazoned on their shirts were currently unbeaten with 4 points from a possible 6 so far. A win here would see them jump to the top of Group B.

The Rain Dragons would be looking to avenge a 3-0 loss to Spain United in their previous fixture. If they could then they would rise above their opponents and share the lead at the top with the Spanish team (although Spain United would have a game in hand). Whoever lost this tie would lose vital ground in the chase for Cup qualification.

This match was essentially decided in the first half with Spider Mans Ressies racing into a 3-0 lead. Warren Whitmore was making his Spider Mans debut and he had his second goal in three games to open the scoring. Liam Angel's fourth of the day doubled the lead and John Newberry's first of the day gave them a comfortable cushion at the break.

The Rain Dragons hit back in the second half with Haydn Gush reducing the deficit to 3-1 but the real damage was done in the first period. Final score, 3-1, and Spider Mans Ressies were back on top of Group B.

Game 8 of Group B was Spain United versus We Pay People. Spain United had just seen Spider Mans Ressies move above them but they could reclaim the lead with a draw or victory. For We Pay People, this was their final game in the group phase and 3rd place was still a possibility (even 2nd) if they won this and other results went their way. It was now or never for them though.

A win for Spain United would guarantee Cup qualification and they were half-way there at the change of ends as they lead 1-0 thanks to Manuel Doncel. The lead was far from a match-winning one at this stage though so there was still work to do in the second half. Enrique Martinez made it 2-0 to Spain United and the writing looked on the wall for We Pay People. #5 made it 3-0 and #4 made it 4-0 as the Spanish claimed another convincing win on their return to the summit of Group B.

For We Pay People the result meant they would be playing Plate football this afternoon in the knock-out phase of the 2016 Amsterdam Fives.

The penultimate game of Group B was Dick Farts FC versus The Rain Dragons. Before kick-off the teams sat in 5th place and 4th place respectively. Dick Farts FC could qualify for the Cup with a win as the best third placed team as they would leapfrog their opponents and We Pay People. The Rain Dragons could achieve 3rd place and the Cup with either a draw or a win.

Dick Farts FC drew their first game but lost their next two and needed to bounce back quickly. They did indeed bounce back and it was they who assumed the early ascendency. Mitchel Piggon's fifth goal of the day dealt the opening blow and they lead 1-0 at the break.

The Rain Dragons had struggled for goals this morning but they scored their third of the day in the second half. It came from the same source as their first (Will Watkins) but it would not be enough to earn them the point (or better) that they needed. Second half goals from Alex Orton and then Dan York ensured it would be a victory for Dick Farts FC. It would be they who qualified for the Cup at the expense of their opposition in this game.

To wrap up Group B we had Spider Mans Ressies versus Spain United. Both teams had already ensured Cup qualification and so this was the battle for the Group B title as the top two came head to head. There was much to play for apart from the Group B title. Both teams would want to keep their momentum going into the knock-out phase, a group win would lead to an easier knock-out path to the Cup Final (in theory) and of course there was pride at stake too.

Spain United would no doubt start as favourites with a 100% record and they were still to concede a goal in the tournament. Both teams had scored 11 goals coming into this game so it could well be the Spanish team's defensive record that would prove pivotal.

3 teams had tried and failed to score past Spain United's goalkeeper, Jaime Perez, and at half-time that tournament clean sheet was still intact. If Spider Mans Ressies wanted to take anything from this game they would need to change that record as a first-half strike from Inigo Fadrique ensured Spain United would lead 1-0 at the change of ends.

Spain United doubled their lead in the second half when Manuel Doncel converted his chance. At the other end Spain United's defence had passed their sternest test yet and they emerged unscathed at full-time with a fourth successive clean sheet. Spain United were the only team with more than one clean sheet in the entire competition.
