We were now at the business end of the tournament and as the 4 teams entered the Plate semi-finals they knew they were only 2 victories from silverware.

The first Semi-Final would be contested by Wilhelmus and Double Ya Dosage. Wilhelmus had made the Plate Semi-Finals in both 2009 and 2010 when they went out to the eventual Plate winners on both occasions so if Double Ya Dosage could win here it would bode well for the Final. Wilhelmus would hope to end their run of Semi-Final defeats and go at least one step further this game.

Wilhelmus were perhaps the unluckiest side not to make the Cup competition as they were part of a 3-team tie at the top of Group A but missed out on goal difference. That, combined with a 1-0 win over Double Ya Dosage's sister squad (Pimp My Side) would make the Dutch side favourites in this tie. Double Ya Dosage could certainly not be discounted though as they had only lost 1 game in 5 and that was to Athletico Do Hollande.

With the talking over what could the two teams do on the pitch? It was first blood Wilhelmus when Tom Marshall gave them a 1-0 first half lead. In the second period the game opened up and there were further goals from Gareth Wiseman and Michael Sanderson (6 for the tournament for him). Alec Witts' third goal of the tournament for Double Ya Dosage wasn't enough to prevent them slipping to defeat and they would join Pimp My Side FC on the sidelines in a watching brief for the rest of the day. Wilhelmus had conquered their Plate Semi-Final hoodoo and had a Final to look forward to.

The second Semi-Final was RFM versus Room 20. Room 20 had qualified for the Plate by finishing in 4th position in Group A and only missing out on the Cup by conceding a last minute equalizer in their last group game. RFM had reached this stage with just one defeat but 3 draws had restricted their progress. RFM were also bidding to reach their second Plate Final having reached the Final back in 2009 where they lost to 4-times Plate winners, the CSF.

It was RFM who struck first through James Clark in the opening period but they were pegged back by a Calum Hopkins equalizer. It was a first goal of the day for the captain and a great time to score it. In the second period, for long periods we were locked at 1-1 and with the sands of time running out we were heading towards extra time.

Room 20 had suffered late heartbreak in their last group game but in this game they would be celebrating a late goal as Calum Hopkins second of the game put Room 20 2-1 up. There was barely any time for RFM to comeback and it would be Room 20 who would progress and meet Wilhelmus in the Plate Final.

It was farewell to RFM for another season and we hope to see you in tournament action again next season.
