Hellgarve Kraken's were appearing for the second time in Portugal in the 2019 eurofootballfives.com season. In April they travelled to our Lisbon Tournament. They performed well and finished joint second in the table on 11 points from 6 games. They were level with 2017 champions Pangare Futebol Clube (Bra) but were third on goal difference and missed out on the Cup. They were brilliant in the Plate competition with 6-1, 2-0 and 3-1 victories taking them to victory.

After a 3-0 win in their first game they would no doubt be targeting the Cup competition and the overall title. They were up against a Parkwood A team who won their opening encounter, 2-0. This promised to be a great game.

The game lived up to its promise and was hugely entertaining. It was a very well fought match with both teams looking good. Both teams had chances and the difference was probably two fold – Hellgarve Kraken's were more clinical in front of goal and Joao Dias was superb in goal for the Portuguese.

The game finished 3-0 but it was closer than that as a contest. Joao Miguel scored his third of the tournament in the first half before a second half double from Ivo Gomes secured all three points for Hellgarve Kraken's.

Trinacria were making their third eurofootballfives.com appearance. They featured for the first time at the 2017 Krakow Trophy. From their 5 group games they claimed 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats with seven goals scored and five conceded. It meant they finished fourth and qualified for the Plate. They exited the competition at the Semi-Final stage following a 4-1 defeat to Deddington Sea Eagles.

Trinacria took two teams to the 2018 Lisbon Tournament. Trinacria A finished fifth in their group whilst Trinacria B finished in sixth position. The two teams met in the Trophy Quarter-Finals with the A team winning 3-2. In the Semi-Final they defeated Morocco's ASMS (also 3-2) to set up a final with Tysers. The Trophy Final finished 1-1 before the Belgian team took the glory on penalties (3-1).

This game started well with Trinacria as they took a first half lead through Yassin Bouzoumita. The lead was short-lived though as Rufino equalised and Rui turned the game around before half-time for Red Star.

In the second half Red Star extended that lead to 3-1 (goal by Guilhem Wic) to secure their first win of the day.

The final game of Round 2 was Show Me Da Mane versus Lindfield FC. The teams experienced different emotions in Round 1. Show Me Da Mane would have been buoyed by a 1-0 win against a good Red Star team. Lindfield FC suffered a 2-0 defeat in their opening fixture.

If Show Me Da Mane could make it 2 wins out of 2 they would go joint top of the table with Hellgarve Kraken's but would need a big win to top the table on goal difference. As it was, it was Lindfield FC who drew first blood as Andrew Brown gave the team from Sussex the lead.

The second half kicked off with Lindfield FC still winning 1-0. Andrew Brown then doubled his, and his team's, money by converting a second opportunity to make it 2-0. A clean sheet at the other end meant all 3 points were heading to Lindfield FC.
