On a bright, sunny and windy Autumn day in the Algarve teams from England, Scotland and Portugal stepped forward to do battle and become the first ever winners of the Albufeira Fives.

The Albufeira Fives is eurofootballfives.com's first ever ladies tournament and 12 teams from 3 nations came together for a fantastic festival of football. The traveling teams were looking to beat the Portuguese sides “in their own back yard”. The Portuguese teams whilst welcoming to their guest opposition were determined to reign supreme on local soil.

The teams were split into 2 groups of 6, with the top 2 teams progressing to the prestigious Cup Competition. The teams finishing in 3 rd and 4 th place would compete in the Plate Competition, still with a chance to collect silverware. For the teams in 5 th and 6 th their tournament would be over for this year.
